Publisher's summary

Justice—a concept without a universally accepted definition. To some, it means reconciliation, while others deliver it with swift and violent judgment. For me? I just want to not be considered an outlaw for years of serving and protecting New York City.

Yep. That's right. Crimefighting is illegal, punishable by life in prison at the bottom of the ocean. It sucks. But that won't stop me from doing what I was born to do: uphold justice and stop good people from being hurt.

Even if everyone I once called a friend is against me, I'm not bowing down to the Counter Vigilante Taskforce.

My name is Sawyer William Vincent. (I know, it's three first names. Think I haven't heard that before?) Once known as Red Raptor, I'm now Black Harrier, one of the world's most famous masked crime-fighters, and this is my city. I think.

Justice is the first book in Harrier, a brand-new series from Audible number one best-selling author Jaime Castle and CJ Valin, the creators of Raptors.

I wanted to like it

the drama is still really hard to deal with. the turns and twists to keep you engaged and entertained just seem to bug me after the first few. Him still having a massive crush on Amy, seems predesposed to cheating as he welcomes any and all female contact even when in a relationship. the plot twists seem unending. Also i dont think ive read sawyer ever winning a fight without needing to get bailed out at some point. and hes considered an A list super. just doesnt seem to fit the requirements of being one at all.

I wanted to like this, but story is weak.

The weak story and character development never grabbed my desire to finish the book. The reader was good. It was more of a personal drama with justice hero stuff stringing together the odd twistd and turns.

Predictable

Fairly predictable. Had a pretty pretty good idea where it was going from the beginning there was a minor twist at the end.

Amazing

I stumbled upon this book series about a year or so ago, and I’ve been waiting for a continuation since. It was worth the wait; here’s to hoping the next installment comes out soon

Enjoying the story

I do not like Summer. It is a good story but I'm frustrated with the romantic interest and our main character putting up with the behavior. I'll keep reading though.

Continuation and setup

Ok so it's still basically a Batman/Robin story, but I enjoy it.

This one continues the Raptors story fast forwarded by a couple years and picks up with a heroe's worst nightmare. The bulk of the story is character development and setup for what sounds like a big event in the next book. No need to spoil it, but I'm sensing a return to "normal" will be the result when the dust settles and we see which heroes survived.

I am going to predict that Alex dies.

A beautiful new entry into an amazing universe!

I've been a fan of the Raptors books since day one. The world Castle/Valin have created is both familiar and unique—which i know doesn't make sense. As an old-school comic book fan, this is such a breath of fresh air. It's not the done-to-death Superheroes are bad. It's not the dismantling of a genre we all love. It's true-to-the-heart of what Marvel and DC started as. Superheroes that are good and want good for people.

Harrier is a new series, though anyone who listened to Raptors will find themselves right at home. Taking place 2 years after Scions, it's an addition while also written well enough that I wouldn't have felt shafted if I hadn't read the first trilogy.

Honestly, all I can say is that you cannot possibly go wrong by listening to this book. Its free on the Plus catalog, and for the life of me, I can't imagine why. All I know is I am glad.

Thanks you Jaime Castle and CJ Valin for letting us back in to the universe you created.

Entertaining Comback

Raptors have so far been my favorite series to listen to. I’m so glad the series has continued from where it left off and can’t wait to listen to the rest of this new exciting trilogy of Harrier.

When will the book start?!?

Seriously I just kept waiting for the novel to start. Till I realized that Harrier: Justice was really just an excuse for the authors to write the next book! An explanation from where the last book (Scions) ended and what the characters had been up to for the last three years. I also couldn't believe that the MC Sawyer had, exhibited no character development inspite of the period of time that had lapsed. He was still determined to make a fool of himself in front of a girl he liked. And his dialogue with her is so inane. But it's seemingly in the blood as his father also an idiot 🙄 when it comes to romance as well...
So I wish that the authors had left the romance behind and just stuck to writing an action-driven crime fighting novel that they're actually good at. There's also some big time revels right at the end, setting up the next book nicely!
I enjoyed the lineup of narrators for the book. But will I pickup the next book? Maybe if it's available free again for Audible plus customers 🤔.
