Story
In sales, the worst thing you can hear from a customer isn’t “no.” It’s “I need to think about it.” When this happens, deeply entrenched business advice says to double down on your efforts to sell a buyer on all the ways they might win by choosing you and your business. But this approach backfires dramatically. Why? Because it completely gets wrong the primary driver behind purchasing decision-making: once purchase intent is established, customers no longer care about succeeding. What they really care about is not failing.

Story
Anthony Iannarino never set out to become a salesman. He fell into his profession by accident, and now has turned his focus to a question that's been debated for at least a century: Why are a small number of salespeople in any field hugely successful, while the rest are stuck with mediocre results at best? Since then, and for over 25 years, he has read hundreds of books, tested countless strategies, and interviewed dozens of the best salespeople to figure out what sets the extraordinary ones apart from the rest.

Are you having trouble believing what the new self-proclaimed “experts” post on LinkedIn and beginning to question their proclamation that everything in sales has changed? The one constant in the world of sales is the noise from self-titled experts and thought leaders informing you of the latest tools, tricks, and strategies that you should utilize. However, ironically, the more modern solutions you adopt, the harder it is to get results. Mike Weinberg offers a wake-up call to salespeople and sales leaders on how to bypass the noise so you can start winning more new sales.

What if you can successfully coach anyone in 15, five, or even 60 seconds using one question? Sales Leadership makes delivering consistent, high-impact coaching easy. For busy, caring managers, this removes the pressure and misconception that, "Coaching is difficult, doesn't work, and I don't have time to coach." Since most managers don't know how to coach, they become part of the non-stop, problem-solving legion of frustrated Chief Problem Solvers who habitually do other's work, create dependency, and nourish the seed of mediocrity.

Story
In the Age of the Customer, sales effectiveness depends mightily on the buyer experience. Despite nearly universal agreement on the need for creating value in every step of the buyer’s journey, sellers continue to struggle with how to create that value and connect meaningfully with buyers. New research bridges the gap and reveals the behavioral blueprint for sellers that makes buyers more likely to meet with them - and more likely to buy from them.

How to Run a Modern-Day Sales Org
The book was great - more like an instruction manual on how to build and scale a consistently high-performing sales team. It covers all the bases and will have you taking notes. You’ll use it to shape your team’s strategy or pitch the change to the executive team. This book is gold. I ended up starting with the audible version then getting the hard copy so I could jump all around and take notes.
Those who will get the most out of this book are executive teams looking, or needing, to create a high-performing sales team founded on accountability and results. This is the right way to run a team, now you just have to figure out how to get your sales team to adopt your new vision - and of course he covers that as well.

Practical advice throughout
Love Iannarino's thought process and observations about sales and leadership. This is my third book by him. I will probably end up buying the text version of this because I felt myself wanting to grab a highlighter multiple times.
I am a salesperson turned sales leader and the perspectives shared around this were quite valuable.
There are issues however with the audio itself especially in the earlier part of the book. Some doubled lines, coughs, etc.

A must listen to for Sales Managers
I have listened to several other books that Anthony has released. This is by far the most directed at helping Sales Leaders put plans together for their teams to increase the deals in their pipelines and how to better coach their teams on reaching a high level of sales performance. Steve
