It’s time to put an end to the cycle of emotional abuse and manipulation you endured as a child

You might find that most of your childhood revolved around your parents and their needs, instead of the other way around. You need to break this toxic cycle so that you can develop a nurturing, happy relationship with your kids. And it all begins with rising from the ashes of your own childhood trauma…

In Life After Emotionally Immature Parents, you will discover:

  • The five types of emotionally immature parents (and how their behavior affects children)
  • How trauma is used to emotionally bond as well as isolate a child for manipulation (think Stockholm syndrome)
  • Seven unrealistic expectations of emotionally immature parents (perhaps you’ll recognize one or two from your own experience…)
  • A clear understanding of the abuse cycle—discover the signs of emotional abuse and its cyclic pattern, along with three psychological manipulation tactics
  • How to navigate the road to recovery—acknowledge your inner child as you apply these eight practical tips to heal from your abusive childhood
  • And much more…

Detaching yourself from the emotional trauma of your childhood will give you a positive outlook toward building a healthy relationship with your kids as you rediscover a better you.

Very informative!

I didn't know what is an emotionally immature parent until the author define it and offer solutions to it. Sometimes you overlook things or the way your parents treat you or the way you treat your kids. Sometimes you might not notice and think it is okay. But parents' toxic behavior can really affect the kids. It has made me change to a different perspective and pay attention more to how I parent the kids. These are great reminders for parents to be careful about the way we treat our kids.

Liked the ending

I’ve done therapy and read up on this so the first half was repetitive for me. I liked the examples with boundaries in the second half. My favorite part was where the author described certain outcomes as natural consequences of EIPs actions. That framework will be very helpful for me.

Helped me so much!

Listening to this audiobook really shed some light on what was really going on in my childhood and how I can fix some of my ways of being that stemmed from being raised by emotionally immature parents. This book is so important for people to read because when you are a child you don't realize what's normal and what's not, you just think it's normal because, well, aren't parents supposed to be your end all be all? Thank goodness for the information in this book, which is helping me work on forming healthy and secure attachments for the first time in my life. Highly recommend!

Well Structured

A great audiobook covering an issue that many people suffer from. The author did a great job at giving you all the baseline information needed, structuring it in a digestible way, and providing solutions to overcome past trauma. I would highly recommend to anyone feeling like they have trauma from a toxic childhood

How to Be a Better Person to Be a Better Parent

I just loved listening to this audible. The way it was delivered helped me understand how my upbringing influenced who I become in my adult life. However, there is always room to change and this book gives me the tools to not only be a better person but be a better father to my kids and to break the toxic cycle I experienced with my parents.

This book has so many valuable points and each chapter was able to give me great insight into how to raise my kids. I'm recommending it to all my friends and family as I hope it can help them open their hearts and feelings to become great parents, and also understand their current struggles related to their past. Love it!

Helpful to identify traumas and to break the cycle

The content of this audible consists on a very well researched material and on several studies on the matter.

This audible is an excellent resource to identify emotionally immature parents (I was not aware of the definition before this audible), which could be your father, your mother, yourself or anyone else. The author helps you to identify who’s the immature person, and offers solutions to break this cycle - in spite of who is the toxic person. The toxic person could impact lifes for generations if the pattern (trauma) keeps repeating.

Also interesting to know that most of the victims do not know they are victims of abuse, and are likely to act like their parents (or abusers) and continuing repeating the same narcissistic cycle with their children.

Thanks to the author for sharing all this content, which definitely will change (positively) many lifes (inclusive mine). Also, kudos to the author for exposing her experiences (and lessons learnt along life), which demands such courage and willingness to help others.

The narration is just great: calm and clear voice, helping the listener to keep focused on the content.

I highly recommend it !
