Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Story
When a teenage girl is found dead in the woods, her body posed like an angel, Stockholm holds its breath. The kill bears a chilling resemblance to those of the Angel Maker, a serial killer caught two decades ago.... One who just died in prison. Detective Inspector Jamie Johansson is taking some much-needed time away from the London Met when the call comes in. Her father, one of Stockholm's most notorious detectives, caught the Angel Maker when she was just a girl, and Jamie has long since closed the door to that part of her life.

Hated virtual narration but good story
Virtual narration ruined the telling of the story but the book itself was good. Good plot

Like the story, HATED the virtual voice!
Story was pretty interesting and somewhat predictable. But all in all a good summer read, if you can get over the virtual voice. It was awful!

Virtual Voice ruined a great read
Story was phenomenal, however, the virtual voice made it such a disappointing experience. This is one of the only times I wish I had read a hard book versus audio.

Narrator. AI
The narrator being AI made this book just so so. Not a fan. Perhaps had a real person been the narrator, I would like it more

Wowza!
First of all, this didn’t sound like a virtual voice. It wasn’t the computerized voice I’ve heard on other non-narrator books! It sounded like a real narrator! This is the first book I’ve read by Spencer Guerrero and it was amazing! Great story and twists that kept coming! 5 stars!!!!!

Less than stellar
AI as the voice was emotionless. Unnecessary dialogue throughout. Don't waste your time, not a great listen!
