About this listen

New York Times and #1 Audible bestselling author, Jeremy Robinson, explores an alternate reality in which the events of Project Nemesis, soon to be a TV series from Chad Stahelski (director of John Wick 1-4) and Sony Pictures Television, played out very differently, creating a horrific and thrilling new world where sacrifice and vengeance are part of everyday life.

From the ashes of a devastated Boston, a harrowing legend emerges. Thirteen years prior, the colossal kaiju, Nemesis, ravaged the city in her relentless pursuit of retribution. Today, mankind's survival teeters on the sacrificial offerings atop a chilling monolith known as The Altar, where the condemned pay the ultimate price to prevent Nemesis's wrath from consuming humanity.

Agent Graham, a grizzled operative on the brink of retirement, finds himself tethered to the fiery, untested Agent Tilly. Together, they are the unlikeliest of partners within the Nemesis Special Operations group, the government's first line of defense against the looming shadow of the massive Goddess of Vengeance. Their mission? To hunt down the enigmatic cult, Divine Retribution, before they can harness the devastating power of Nemesis to reshape the world to their warped sense of righteousness.

As Graham and Tilly plunge into Boston's darkest underbelly, they face more than just the echoes of their city's past. They must outwit cunning cultists, battle impossible monsters on the windswept beaches of Martha's Vineyard, and forge an unexpected alliance with the motley and formidable all-female biker gang inspired by the Queen of Monsters, the 'Nemesisters.' Every step drives them closer to the unthinkable and asks the questions:

How many must be sacrificed to save the world from the ever-watchful gaze of Nemesis? How many more will she demand when the world needs to be saved?

Stellar as per usual

This stand alone novel is so much fun - and even more if you’ve read the alternate universe Nemesis series. It’s great to see old and beloved names popping up, just in passing or in starring roles.

I wondered how he could take the same essential story and characters and create something more than just a second-rate rehash. I needn’t have worried.

Adventure, monsters, bad guys, monsters, love, redemption, and non-stop action. Did I mention monsters?

Now that was a BLAST! Bonkers kaiju insanity only JR could write

As an avid JR devotee, I knew I’d enjoy Nemesis, though I wasn’t sure what to expect. Let’s just say I finished it in two days, impressive even with the fact the book is on the shorter side.

I honestly could never decide how I thought it was going to end. I kept changing my mind. It was fun being surprised, but with a mind as mad as Jeremy’s, no sense expecting any less.

I enjoyed the father/daughter relationship that grew between Spider and Maigo, and I’m excited to see where it develops. In this novel, it doesn’t feel like we got to know the whole cast of characters all that deeply, but that’s not uncommon in Jeremy’s b**ls-to-the-wall frenetic fashion. I expect they will be explored further in the series moving forward.

I would’ve loved it to be longer, especially with how expensive Audible credits are, but it was a blasty-blast and God bless Jeremy for sharing himself through the insanity of his imagination.

another Grand slam

another excellent book by Jeremy, The story was gripping, good character development, and a blend of grit humor and ridiculousness that only Mr Robinson can master. as always RC Bray brings the story to life in a way that affirms him as the best narrator ever!

thank you both for keeping me entertained at work

A Goddess of Literary Excellence

This tale truly is a monstrous thrill ride. Between believable characters, a world state similar to our own yet different enough to be both familiar and engaging, and an overarching threat the likes of which both feels at home given the lore of the original saga, yet feels fresh and unique to this story.

Nemesis is a high velocity thrill ride that will destroy all expectations and leave you praying to the Goddess herself for more. Between the performance and the genius writing, every word captivates your attention. All Hail Nemesis!

Great character's

What an enjoyable listen. The story was interesting. The characters even more so, the banter between them was by far superior. One of the few books that made me laugh outloud. Great choice in narrator for the book as well. Can't wait for my son to listen to it. Will be getting more Jeremey Robinson books. I also loved the last hunter series.

Different genre for an 83 grandmother

I enjoyed this book very much to my surprise. Don’t know why it was in my collection, but I thought I’d read it and was so surprised to find that I really enjoyed it. I wish the author great success and all his endeavors.

Best dang book I’ve listen to almost ever.

Let me say first, I guess the author had other books featuring Nemisis, but I never read them. Kinda glad I didn’t as don’t like ready alternative writings for a character. This featured awesome match up of characters, bodacious conversations and wit, and the action….just listen to or read it!

Nemesis!

Nemesis is funny as hell, and it’s…Nemesis. I was hesitant at first. I loved the previous Nemesis books to the point they are on my yearly read list. So, I was hesitant. (I apologize to the Great Jeremy Robinson for doubting.) This was the perfect balance of old and new. It’s familiar and new at the same time. Genuinely brilliant writing. RC Bray is phenomenal. He hits all the right notes, perfectly. Jeremy Robinson continues to evolve as a writer naturally. A very long time reader, I highly recommend this book to all readers, old and new. Don’t hesitate and open your mind. Even if you haven’t read any other Nemesis books, you’ll be okay. But it was great fun catching all the little things that reminded me of the old as it took a road of new. True 5 stars in my opinion. But, I’ve never read a bad Robinson book.
