Publisher's summary

The second installment in Sherrilyn Kenyon's bestselling Dark-Hunter series, Night Embrace.

As an ancient Celtic warrior, Talon made one giant mistake— he killed the son of the war god Camulus. In anger and outrage, Camulus cursed him—Everyone Talon loved would die a horrible death in front of his eyes. But when Talon's clan slaughters his young sister while he watches, powerless to stop them, he sells his soul for vengeance against them. Two thousand years later in modern-day New Orleans, as part of the bargain he made, he's now an immortal protector who keeps mankind safe from the creatures who would prey on them. A life he's happy with until he meets Sunshine—an offbeat artist who reminds him what it's like to really live. Unfortunately for both of them, it's Mardi Gras, and New Orleans is teeming with a complex plot of ancient gods, including Camulus, who are now out to re-conquer the world. The gloves are off and it's time for a rematch with Talon out to save everyone, including the artist who makes him insane.

Can he really save New Orleans?

Talon is an immortal that can only emerge from his home after dark. Sunshine is a human that loves the daylight. Can they merge their completely different lifestyles?

Talon, thousands of years old, finds that he cannot leave Sunshine defenseless when his enemies target her. She is a bright light in his otherwise dark world and when they stay together for her protection, her inquisitive nature and gentle stubbornness frustrates and attracts him.

Mardi Gras is coming and the enemy is out in full force hunting for Sunshine.

Can he keep her safe while the enemies of the Dark-Hunters are determined to kill her?

A timely read

I remember reading these in high school. Myself and a few girlfriends would pass this around. Almost as a forbidden NOT ALLOWED in school kind of thing. I still enjoy listening to it after all these years. The whole Dark Hunter series is amazing! It’s something I can listen to over and over again.

LOVE THIS STORY

If you could sum up Night Embrace in three words, what would they be?

ROMANTIC!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Night Embrace?

Talon hes romantic and completely in love!

What does Carrington MacDuffie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does a good job but not my favorite pick.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Wouldn't make it a film.

Any additional comments?

Like most of her books at first I have a hard time getting into the characters, but towards the middle of the book I love them.

The Fireworks are everywhere in this one!

Would you consider the audio edition of Night Embrace to be better than the print version?

Yes. I love books, but hearing the story just helps to bring the characters to life in a way that reading alone does not always do. This narrator is excellent at drawing me in.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Night Embrace?

The upstairs room when all H*** breaks loose! What action! Love it!

What about Carrington MacDuffie’s performance did you like?

I like that the performance is seamless. He slid from male to female and from accent to accent without a hitch and without breaking my concentration on the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All the moments between Talon and his sister, especially the last one.

Any additional comments?

I love this series, and I have found myself owning both the books and the audiobooks. That takes a lot for me, so way to go Sherrilyn. I may be broke, but keep em coming!

narration

Is it Go- te- yay or Go-shay? The change in names and accents make making between one book any the nexy, pretty annoying.
