"Full of such inventive naughtiness, it might be better to keep these away from your children." Emma Thompson

worth a listen

I have the Nurse Matilda stories in hard copy but I find the audios easy for long journeys in the car. My children loved the first one and this one they think just as great. They are looking forward to the third.

The narrator reads so well you are instantly engaged in the story. She's very expressive with her character impersonations and quite funny with the different accents from the characters.
The story content is brilliant and just what children of any age over 5 would relate to and comprehend (not to mention their parents). Not too old fashioned at all, seeing as this is one of three stories that have inspired the Nanny McPhee movies. If your children loved the movies, then they will thoroughly enjoy listening to the originals.
