About this listen

Too many secrets, too many foes....

Richard Royal has escaped death, but it came at a price: a favor to one of the masters of his dystopian theocracy. Three years later, the favor has come due, and he must return to Generica Online.

Once more, he must become a dragon. But even with such power at his command, his troubles are Legion. Surrounded by foes and questionable allies, and stuck defending a cold and lonely site of incredible occult significance, there may be no way out. Can he figure out what is really going on and escape the trap before his sacrifice unleashes blasphemous horrors?

Safe as first

Solid. Fun little romp. Initially off putting w new narrator but you'll adjust...
Other MC gets more play. MC, more annoying for a bit but levels back up. Stuck a decent ending.

I really enjoyed this book. being someone who travels alot, I felt I was really drawn into the story. it wasn't overly complicated to follow. I look forward to the next one.

Fantastic and clever

I love world building, and Andrew Seiple does a superb job of it. The systems and rules (and cheats and loopholes) of Generica are inspiringly well crafted, and he never missed an opportunity for some good wordplay and strange references (such as the word for a group of wendigos). I can't wait for more.

Narration was great. Wouldn't change a thing, and that's saying something, coming from me.

Nick Podehl fan, no problem here.

I was very concerned about continuing the series but this turned out great, The performance is actually really good.

good timing since the dragon had evolved to a larger one now.

Fyi I was only interested in the dragon part of the story and in book one I skipped chapters until it started, so I listened at Chapter 5, and skipped at least another chapter or two of “home life”.

Here in book two the kid is older and at like an acadamy/college so its not as bad. All in all the story has been getting more interesting and surprisingly better

good listen.

great story that continues where book 1 left off, the great about this series, is the continues progress on the book, not a lot of empty talk, the flow is great! only minor thing is the change of narrator, nick has done a lot of great books and is an icon of a voice and when listening to a book he does, alot of times charaters from other books he has done, pops into your head but he is always amazing, minor bummer when they change narrator in a series because that's not how you now assume this charater sounds, but the new narrator does a great job. no chip on his shoulder and happy to see he alao does the next one one, wish they had choosen him from book 1 or stuck with nick. but great book and series!

An amazing read

As with all of Andrew Seiple's works, this was an amazing piece. The character growth of both halves of the main character is something that shows a skilled hand, and an imaginative mind. Would definitely recommend.

Better than the first book

Annoying that they change narrators but this guy was pretty good. First book felt a little too familiar to other LITRPG’s but this one found its own way and turned out to have a really interesting twist at the end.

Hit its stride. Better than the first

This book improved alot on the first installment of this series. For one i felt like Seiple found a good balance between light and dark, good and evil. The world was opened up and explored more in this book as well as the characters being over-all more mature and relatable. Their not so helpless like they were in the first. This book takes place 3 years after the end of the first book and we see the man Rich has grown into as well as the dragon the hatchling has grown into. Both have matured in alot of ways and are all around more entertaining and enjoyable to listen to. We also get into the real meat of the overall plot for this series. Some secrets are revealed (some that even illuminate some of the vague unexplained things i wondered about from the threadbare series) and we get a better sense of whats actually happening with the Generica universe and its inhabitants. The story was funny and engaging. The dragon constantly getting sayings wrong or unknowingly using phrasing or innuendos at Inappropriate times is always amusing. Im kina confused and disappointed that no relationship or love interest was pursued in this book. There were a couple of the female characters that subtley expressed appreciation/desire for Rich now that hed grown up and was more mature but there was no follow up or anything. Not sure if that was supposed to be a set up for the next book or what but i feel like its a wasted opportunity to not get things rolling in this book. Everyone loves a little romance to lighten the tension. I did very much appreciate the good vibes in this book though. The MCs were all level headed and thought things out, there were no ridiculous "misunderstands" that snow ball into a major plot points (i HATE when authors do that). There were places in the book where i felt like the dragon and Rich shouldve been communicating more (or at all at first) but i guess it was just them getting back into sharing bodies and figuring out the best way to go about things and Rich getting over his hang ups a d brain washing. I really did enjoy this book and am excited to see how things end up. Id definitely recommend and im glad i stuck with it.
