The story is riveting!

The narrator has many great voices. He is especially vibrant in his depictions of Fagin

Very well read.

Oliver Twist is one of those classic stories that is truly timeless. Though the scenery around us changes and the vernacular evolves, the colors of life and emotion remain ever the same. There is the longing for love and belonging and safety. There are people who care and people who do not. There is the impulse to give, and the temptation to take. There is gentleness, and there is savagery. This rendition of Oliver Twist is very well read and you are pulled into the surroundings by the talented voice acting. I recommend it!

Comical classic

Although I have often heard of Oliver Twist this was my first time delving into the original story. Excellent performance. Poor Oliver's life is so tragic to start with but Mr Dickens paints it in such a satirical fashion that I had a good many laughs. I almost put it down halfway through wondering how much hardship can one boy endure but I'm glad I continued. It did have a satisfactory ending.

Its Just Me

This was my first attempt at getting through Oliver Twist, I am mot sure why I didn't think ot woyld be as heavy anf wordy as it is. Its a good, deep, interesting book. A Lot of brain and emotional and moral food. I simply had a difficult time getting through some parts bwcause it seems like they rambled ceaselessly.

Captivating storytelling

Having known only the musical version of this story, I was delighted to really experience the the rich writing of the novel. This particular narrator was fabulous- really colorful voice infused with humor and weight, and gave life to all the characters expertly. What a treat!

Absolutely wonderful

What made the experience of listening to Oliver Twist the most enjoyable?

I have never read or seen the entire story, so this was a delight. Martin Jarvis brought the characters to life and was consistent throughout the whole story. I wouldn't even think of giving this anything less than 4 stars.

Probably best narration

Characters, story, narration. What a hear wrench to listen to a compelling story of destitution and hope. It’s a story for sure, but thank you for redemption!
