Publisher's summary

He’s the goat of the NFL. She’s a hot-headed reporter who despises him. They’re in the same small town for the summer. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm more than aware of the responsibilities that come with being a quarterback in the NFL. The upside—I get to do what I love every day, which is play football. And I make more money than I know what to do with. The downside—everyone wants a piece of me, and the press stalks me ruthlessly. And one reporter in particular, Brinkley Reynolds, has crossed a line. She takes things too far. So yeah, I have her escorted out of the press conference. Imagine my surprise when the same woman walks into the coffee shop in the small town where I’ve gone to get some privacy for the summer.

I accuse her of stalking me. She calls me every name in the book before proceeding to make me feel very unwelcome in Cottonwood Cove. Her hometown. The place where she tucked tail and ran after I’d unknowingly gotten her fired.

So now, I’m public enemy number one. That’s fine with me. I’m not the biggest fan of her either. She’s equal parts stubborn and aggravating. But she happens to be the sexiest woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.

So I try to make amends. I’m not the devil after all. But she won’t give me the time of day, unless I agree to give her my story. One I’ve fought hard to protect since the day I started playing professional ball.

I don’t owe Brinkley Reynolds anything. So why am I considering giving her everything?

This is book three in the Cottonwood Cove series. Each one can be listened to as a complete stand-alone. An HEA is guaranteed!

Assumptions Led to Loathing…

On the Shore is loathing to lovers because they weren’t really enemies. It began with assumptions made about each other, and the hero getting the heroine fired from her job. It was a well-paced small town romance with the perfect amount of heart and spice. There wasn’t a lot the way of character growth, but it wasn’t necessarily needed for the story development and the romance to work as Laura Pavlov wrote the characters. Basically. I really enjoyed the book!

Love it

Audio review - Joe Arden and Erin Mallon
This book touched on a lot of things. A woman trying to make a name for herself as a sports journalist. A football player trying to live a private life. These two have a rocky start due to a misunderstanding. Then when they come face to face the tension is high yet there is an attraction. I loved the family connection between Brinkley and her family and Lincoln and his mom. Then there was him finding out about his siblings and the bonds that formed there. The family group texts were hilarious. The narrators were great and the emotions could be felt throughout this audiobook. I cannot wait for ebook/paperback release and look forward to the rest of the series as well.

Laura does it again- & this narration is FIRE!!!

I am SO happy to be back at Cottonwood Cove! I am so in love with the Reynolds' family! I love Brinkley so much and I am so glad that her book is the third one. there was so much tension and banter in this one. I loved how it was enemies to lovers and the fact that right off the bat you find out that he unintentionally got her fired from her previous job. but soon after spending time together, they start to realize their mutual feeling are too strong to ignore. and that freaking kitchen scene?! gosh dang take me out!!!! their friendship turned relationship just makes me heart swoon and so happy. I love how kind gentle, and protective Lincoln was over Gracie. and their little moment at the store gave me ALL the heart eyes. I love how easily Lincoln fit into her family as a whole and how he so boldly declared that he wanted to date Brinkley but that she would not give him the time of day! their story was so much fun to read, and i loved every second of it. i’m so freaking proud of Brinkley for standing up for herself and for Lincoln supporting her 100%. there were so many fun little twists and surprises that hint towards the future! this also made me so excited for finn’s book! There was something super special about this book and its definitely one of my top reads of the year!

This book will make you feel all the things!

“I could stay here forever kissing this girl. On the moon, under the shore”

I will start off by saying my emotions were all over the place. I laughed a lot (ESPECIALLY DURING THE FAMILY GROUP CHAT) and cried more than I was expecting. Without providing spoilers, there is a scene in this book that happened to me as a teenager with the exact opposite outcome. The way that Laura wrote it felt so real and was an excellent set up to the new series that will be after Cottonwood Cove🤭

Brinkley and Lincoln’s banter was on point and their story felt real and not rushed. Erin Mallon and Joe Arden's voices together are EVERYTHING

One of my favorite things about the book was also seeing cameos from all the Honey Moutain girls (especially my girl Dylan!)

Over all. Easy 5 stars. Everyone needs to read it and I am so proud of Laura for the success she is already having from this book!

Great narrators and story!

I think the narrators make ALL the difference for the audiobooks. I absolutely LOVE Erin Mallon and Joe Arden, and they do not disappoint on this one. The story is pretty great. My favorite part of this book (and every book in the series so far) is that technically there isn’t a 3rd act breakup. There’s no stupid miscommunication, or the girl totally misreading the guy. There are “real” issues that both main characters have to work through, and I love how Laura does it.
