About this listen

Everything is changing for Gabe.

His writing career is seeing some traction, his relationships are blossoming, and the time has come to move to a new, bigger house. Krystal and Liz are ready to commit to a new life living with and dating him.

The time has come to get more serious about their lives. Debt, healthcare, new careers based on passion instead of profit...it's a lot to consider.

But Gabe was never under the impression that loving five women simultaneously was ever going to be easy.

The flow of the story

So I felt that the first book was the best in totality. It felt the most grounded in reality while the ongoing harem aspect seemed to just be overindulgent male fantasy. The main character felt less relatable and more of an empty vessel for the reader to put themselves into. With this book, I actually felt true character development, and more of an emphasis on story.

Surprisingly better

I really enjoyed the first 4 books i will say this one really rubbed me the wrong way though. I get that men can be pigs and jerks but this book really pushes the point that most men are bad and women are always the victims and right in most relationships and it is pushed a lot in this book. other than the male hating agenda it is a fun book with good character development and relationship story lines.

Ok first up I like a lot of the authors other work, I also enjoyed the earlier books in this series. This one was a struggle, I had to stop and listen to something else at several points. So the MC and harem are all artist of some form or other and artist in general have a hard time making ends meat throughout history. The occasional grumbling about financial situation is expected. However, at some points I half expected the Russian revolution music to start playing and everyone to end their sentences with Comrade. The wors moment though, Spoiler warning, was when the MC gets punched in the face. And its not even the one who punched him that I'm mad about its the other woman who simply laugh at him. No "Oh shit, are you all right, do you need help, or even Need some ice?" no it "haha dumbas. you were warned." And the MC who must be a full on empath just shrugged it of. And that's after chapters and chapters about respecting and communicating and caring for each other. Throw a little weed at the women and "Oh he was told only once, guess a TBI is an excepted punishment for tickling someone." And then he just shrugs walks around with a shiner and instantly tells everyone its nothing and he had it coming? That's not love or caring that a man who has been traumatized by abandonment, terrified of being thrown back into hell now he has found heaven and desperate to hold on through any pain. In conclusion the message I got was men need to be empaths, doormats, and punching bags. If you like the authors maybe follow one of the other series. If your like me ans just refuse to quit well... hope ther is improvement.

The book kept the story going and had lots of great spice and characters developed. The bashing on quais rants by many of the characters was ramped up and was very jaring.

The rants also seemed to be nearly hypocritical considering some of them were against the very thing characters were doing. IE Railing against the system, yet obviously figuring out how to use the system and get a head through skill, luck, and grit.

I may end up stopping at this point in the series, and that does make me sad.

Enjoyable but detracting with agenda
