Love this series.

Great series, with probably my favorite ending to a book written in this book. I read or listen to this series at least every other month. You won’t regret getting to know Ishmael Horatio Wong and the cast of characters around him!

great story

this has to be one of the best stories I've heard in a while. I love how much all the character grow throughout the books. I'm reviewing this one for the series as a whole. I appreciate the fact that each book leaves off at a point where it makes sense instead of a forced break, and the story picks back up where it makes sense. the series also doesn't have a lot of filler content. each chapter builds upon the previous and has a purpose and removing one would make a later chapter incomplete.

Excellent

This is a wonderous series with an excellent ending. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this author. Ready to start a new series of his and hope that it is as good as the books I’ve already read

Great series!

Storey is well written. Only gave 4 out of 5 because I didn't like the direction the storey went and how it ended but that's just personal feelings not that it was bad.

A treasure as a book, performance, and series

The Tales of the Solar Clipper series is on my permanent list of favorite sci-fi books and audiobooks for several reasons.

Ishmael's story stands out as different from the most commonly well-known works in the genre. It truly is a "tale", a story of a person's journey and personal development with a sea-faring flavor that has evolved into space. The context of space-faring merchant marines shapes his development in a series of personal interactions with other human shipmates, a "strange new" WAY of life rather than strange new forms of life. Like great literature, Lowell depicts the oldest story -- an aspect of the human condition -- in a new way.

Lowell clearly grows as an author from Quarter Share through Owner's Share, and this is something to treasure, too. It adds credibility to Ishmael's voice and makes a character the reader can empathize with.

Personally, I've also found concepts to chew over and words to keep in this series. There are realizations that stand the test of time, and can help a person navigate one's own personal course.

I highly recommend this, as well as the next three books in Ishmael's story. When you've read those as well, join me in pleading with Lowell for more!

Can’t get enough

I love the Ish series. Wish I would have known about the 3 related series and listened in chronological order. But it was still enjoyable.

Fantastic story

I loved every aspect of this book and the other books in the series. It was so comforting and exciting and fascinating. It’s like science fiction engaged me from 60 years ago.

really great story, so sad to see it end. would have been better if it ended on a happier note but life doesn't usually do that.

A good ending to the series

Interesting and fun. Twisting the story to and fro. Really like the different characters. Whole series was good.
