About this listen
Read by the author.
When you breathe in all the grace available to you and release everything that is outside of your control, you'll discover peace that surpasses your circumstances. All it takes is practice.
If you feel overwhelmed with anxiety about the future, you're far from alone. For many of us, when we're not worrying about what is to come, we find ourselves wrestling with things from the past. Where does that leave us today?
Morgan Harper Nichols has learned the answer to this question. She has examined stories from her own life and the lives of people around the world and noticed a common thread: we all long for peace. We're all seeking light and life.
But these things don't happen passively.
Peace Is a Practice invites you to become an active peacemaker in your own life, starting right where you are, and in some of the most unexpected places. As these words and images inspire you to take daily steps toward peace, you'll uncover the key to:
- Embracing the beauty of the present
- Letting go of regret of the past and fear of the future
- Developing a path toward meaning and authenticity
- Approaching life's challenges with faith and a calm confidence
- Feeling peace even in the midst of uncertainty or difficult times
In every moment, there is something as deep and boundless as a winding river waiting to be found--a true peace that flows, beckoning you to rest and be still.

Story
Perhaps in no other way do we more vibrantly reflect our creator than with our creativity. Whether through music, writing, baking, painting, posting on social media, dancing, or any other form of artistic expression within our grasp, we were created to create. Yet, there are times we may be unsure about our art, times when our creating and making doesn't feel possible or purposeful or practical. Rachel Marie Kang wants you to know that your art is not peripheral to life—it is at the very heart of why you exist and what you have to offer to yourself and to the world.

In Try Softer, you'll learn how to: know and set emotional and relational boundaries; make sense of the difficult experiences you've had; identify your attachment style-and how that affects your relationships today; move through emotions rather than get stuck by them; and grow in self-compassion and talk back to your inner critic. Trying softer is sacred work. And while it won't be perfect or easy, it will be worth it. Because this is what we were made for: a living, breathing, moving, feeling, connected, beautifully incarnational life.

Accept and Create
An artist and I would also say philosopher, who challenges one to create and not judge.
She discovered in her 20’s that she has autism and ADHD. Her art and writing have turned into a business but it has not been easy. This book conveys personal events and also suggestions on allowing ourselves to create. There is a section on journaling and making time to notice and enjoy life. The peace is breathing in grace and letting out anxiety.

I loved it!
I have been following Morgan Harper Nichols’ Instagram for some years. And when I saw she had a new book coming up, I decided to try the audiobook version. I think in short, I absolutely loved it! The book was so full of hope and encouragement. These past years have been hectic for all, and I think the idea of peace as a practice is something we all need.
It’s narrated by MHN herself, so you really get a sense she’s talking to you. I laughed in moments, and teared up in others. There’s a lot I could relate to, and there’s a lot I’m taking from the book to practice in my own life. Overall, listening to Peace is a Practice was a wonderful experience! :) It’s the type of book I know I will be listening to over and over again when I need reminders of hope, and a light in my life <3
