Their family and social connections tie them to the highest echelons of the political, medical, and sports worlds - threads that will tangle them up in one of the most controversial and deadly issues of our time. In a clinic on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, a doctor has dedicated his life to eradicating a divisive and devastating disease. One by one, his patients are getting well. One by one, they’re being targeted by a serial killer. And now Michael has been diagnosed with the disease. There’s only one cure, but many ways to die....

Critic reviews

“Coben adroitly applies the fundamental rules of thrillerdom (offer a raft of potential villains; keep the action moving at breakneck speed) in this highly entertaining novel... a page-turner!” ( Publishers Weekly)

The plot was good, the narration was excellent but the dialogue was cheesy. Just okay.

I am a fan and have been for quite some time. This was an interesting concept but not thrilling. I long for the day when I get a book and can’t put it down. I did listen in one day while doing other things but not wanting to listen again. Maybe I have outgrown today’s fiction thrillers.

Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors. I've read several of his novels and I especially enjoy the Myron Bolitar series. I usually don't like "issue" stories because they tend to be "preachy" and this story is definitely one of those. Like most "issue" stories, it will probably appeal to a certain group of people, however.
