About this listen

Ford Collins is my brother's best friend and Bexley U's favorite defender on the ice. Unfortunately, he feels the need to block much more than the puck.

Namely, me and any chance I have with a guy.

Encouraged by my older brother, Ford has ruined every single date I've ever had. With his hot smirk and sly maneuvers, he has made it his mission to make me the most unattainable female college student in the world—that is until I have a brush with death, and I beg him to help me.

After all, he owes me. And I've come to collect.

Determined to rid himself of the guilt, Ford promises to help me score a boyfriend—or two—and swears he won't interfere.

But the more time I spend learning from one of Bexley U's most desirable playboys, the more I question the real reason he's been sabotaging my dates over the years.

With the lingering touches, heated stares, and sizzling chemistry between us, we both know we're playing with fire. What happens when our game of practice and Ford's spicy lessons become something real that we not only need to hide from my older brother but from each other?

Puck Block is book three in the Bexley U series of interconnected standalones. It's a deliciously sexy enemies-to-lovers, brother's-best-friend, hockey romance by Amazon and USA Today bestselling author S.J. Sylvis.

Over Protective MMC

3.5⭐️
I really enjoyed Ford and Taytum’s story. Their chemistry was off the charts from the beginning. Taytum was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and her family including Ford are up her butt about taking care of herself. Ford and her brother Emery are also way overprotective and run off any guys they see her with. Their level I won’t lie drove me nuts, I was screaming at her to bang someone in front of them 🤣 but once Ford admitted his feelings which did take FOREVER, I loved them together.

Ford & Tatum ❤️

I have been so so excited for Ford & Tatum’s story and it did not disappoint!!!
I love that the storyline does not shy away from Tatum’s diabetes diagnosis and explores the variety of emotions and experiences those diagnosed might have!
I knew from the very first book in the series that Ford and Tatum were end game, but it was so amazing to listen to their spice, connection, and chemistry! I can’t wait for the next book!!!

Good story

I liked the stories the only thing I wish was different was the loud gulping or swallowing the male narrator does through the story

Protective & swoony hockey romance with all the incredible diabetes rep!!

Taytum & Ford🥹 Their story is definitely a slowww burn but with all the delicious tension and forbidden feelings building!!! Ford is her brother, Emory's best friend since childhood and they've always been her bodyguards looking out for her but also ruining any relationships she tries to have. They all go to college together, while they play hockey she does ballet, but after some things happen, Taytum ends up convincing Ford to help her find a boyfriend.

Ford Collins. This man cares for her SO much but her family is like his own after losing his mom and dad left so he just can’t go there with her. Despite all that he still is so caring with her and the way he is always worried about her diabetes melted my heart! He is always checking in, knows the sounds of her monitor, helping her give her insulin and also focused on making sure she’s at a safe level all the time due to his own past trauma too. She may find it over bearing but OMG, it was sooo sweet for me and the broken side of him just wanted her to be okay as he can’t lose someone who means so much to him. And then there is Ford's possessive side! He may try to help her find someone else butttt also sabotages things with her often because if he can’t have her no one can🤭 Overall, I just adored their story and loved watching how their romance and caring for each other built up!

AUDIO REVIEW:
I really enjoyed this one on audio!!! It’s a dual narration by Gabriel Spires and Ramona Master. I’ve listened to Gabriel Spires before and he has a fantastic masculine gruff tone that fits this protective hockey player but what I love about him is all the personality he puts into his tone!! He made Ford feel like a real character with how he elevated all of Ford’s emotions and added in sounds too! He also even adds the sass of Taytum when he uses his female voice too! It was fantastic!! Ramona Master is a new to me narrator she has an enjoyable tone that flowed so well with Gabriel. She has an upbeat tone with a little bit of a rasp and brought out Taytum’s personality and she even performed all the little sounds as well that took it up a notch. Definitely recommend listening to this one!

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨✨

This was… a lot. I, myself, do not have diabetes, but have multiple family members who do and a mother who is a dietitian. Most things in this story were not new to me. But I’m sorry I hated the way she acted about the monitor. Like that was dramatic. Though I can understand that it might have been for the story. I just hate that the author felt she needed to add that part in. Having diabetes isn’t taboo. I was just as frustrated as Ford when she became so careless. But I do think her issues took over the story. I wish there had been more than just her being sick and not regulating it. And as I write this I barely remember the other reason he was around so much. The storyline of him “helping” her was very predictable. But I can say I did enjoy this one more than the previous book.

Mixed feelings towards this one

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. It was so slow and kind of boring to start out. I just didn’t feel anything for the characters or story line. As everything unfolded and their mutual pining and feeling for each other became known I started to enjoy the story more. The way he took care of her even when she didn’t want him to was so sweet. I really ended up liking the characters and the bond they had.
