Therapist and wildly popular attachment research expert Eli Harwood (@attachmentnerd) illuminates the science that explores our innate human need to bond with other humans, and helps us harness it as the only parenting approach proven to have a lasting impact. Her loyal following—fast approaching the millions—connects to Eli’s accessible approach that helps everyone form secure and close relationships with their kids, which helps them develop resilience, confidence, and form close relationships in the future.

Hopeful and inspiring, this essential evidence-based guide shows parents, educators, and anyone with children in their lives that they are not alone in the questions and concerns they may have about raising confident, capable, and caring kids.

Covering every parenting era from newborns to adults, Raising Securely Attached Kids’ simple, real-life strategies will help you:

Best Book I've EVER listened To In The Therapeutic Space!!

SO many things to LOVE about this Audiobook.

Read by the author, who makes this an absolute JOYFUL BREEZE to listen to (even through the tears that may come).

Filled with profound information, that Eli (somehow) communicates in the most simple & understandable way WITH actionable behaviors & scripts you van apply immediately.

This may be my favorite audiobook of ALL TIME & I think every single human would be benefitted personal by reading it. Society will undoubtedly be made better as a whole every time one human listens to this. Even if you don't think you are looking for a book like this, you do. Not only, but especially, parents.

I will be recommending this to every human being I know.

Well done, Eli! It's not every day or ever person who can say they have created something so impactful for the entire positive continuation of humanity. What an incredible purpose you have realized for yourself.

I can't express my gratitude enough for the blessing this (and you) is, and will continue to be for myself personally, & my precious children.

Such a beautiful mix of science and real life application.

I have been dreaming of a book like this! Not only does it guide you through what secure attachment looks and feels like, but it helps you as an adult recognize the consequences of your own attachment with your caregivers and how it transcends into your parenting. Really beautifully written.

Best Parenting Book I Have Ever Read!!!

This book is absolutely incredible and unbelievably helpful. Eli is a genius and does a wonderful job narrating as well. She is able to make the research digestible and applicable to any parent. I am so grateful to her words of wisdom and years of research in helping me on my own journey be the best parent I can be for my children. If only my parents had this book when I was younger! But it today!!!! You won't be disappointed.

A Book About Parenting, But Not Just For Parents!

Eli is warm, funny, and engaging as she teaches about attachment therapy and the ways its underlies all of the other parenting theories and ideas most of us are juggling!

The three things (amongst many!) I loved about this book:

1. This isn’t a book that needs you to throw out your other tactics or parenting ideologies, but rather it tells you WHY these tools work and how to construct a healthy, attachment-based foundation that will make all of the other things WORK

2. I left this book feeling positive and empowered about changing some of my less than ideal parenting tactics versus feeling overwhelmed or regretful about past parenting choices that feel less than ideal now.

3. This isn’t just for parents! Yes, a lot of it deals with the practical act of parenting, but it also highlights a lot of challenging parental behavior that many of us may have have experienced, why it doesn’t work, and how it impacts people. It is a fascinating and meaningful chance to assess your own upbringing and explore a new perspective on how to love and support any kiddo in your orbit.

This is a book I think I will come back to again and again!

Wow! This is life changing for you and your kids!!

I love it when the author reads their work, especially if the author is The Attachment Nerd, Eli Harwood. The flow is friendly like you’re listening to a pal tell you a funny, powerful, story, that you’ll sit nodding through inviting them to tell you more and at the end of it sit there mouth gaping, possibly in tears, profoundly moved, and more than a little changed…very much like Life of Pi. Attachment wounds in ourselves can make raising securely attached kids such a hard undertaking as a parent and Eli just lays out solid, plausible scenarios with world shifting solutions and/or pivots. Intricately weaving little stories of hilarity, vulnerability, and therapy experiences while allowing the parent-reader to see some possible holes in self-healing needs, Eli makes connection based parenting for all ages accessible to those of us without that model. I recommend this to anyone who has ever parented, is currently parenting, and has ever considered parenting… or even if you just want to do the whole “parent yourself” thing so you’re not so cringe.

Powerful, Impactful Read

Eli is one of those humans who is right where she is meant to be in life. A powerful teacher and friendly coach, she is an absolute gift to us all. Her research, relatable breakdown of that research (and experience!) combined with her humility, wisdom and humor make the daunting feeling task of breaking old generational cycles and improving our connection with our kiddos into a manageable and relatable process. And one where there is always room for self compassion. I am so grateful to Eli for sharing this wisdom and her beautiful spirit with us. Thank you for giving us this precious guidance and the skills to walk ourselves through our challenges and transformation with accountability and compassion!
