About this listen

Read by the author.

Discover how facing your underlying pain will allow you to overcome it and move forward. With practical insights and biblical teaching about what it takes to break the cycle of addiction and shame, Reframe Your Shame will set you on the path to freedom.

Irene Rollins knows what it means to walk through shame, especially as a leader. She enjoyed a seemingly perfect life as a wife, mom, and leader of a megachurch while she hid a secret addiction to alcohol that almost destroyed everything. With vulnerability and wisdom, Irene offers strategies and biblical teaching to break free of the suffocating cycle of sin and shame.

Many people aren’t even aware that they live in an addiction cycle, unaware of how unmanageable their lives have become. Their relationships feel distant, difficult, or dysfunctional, but they often don’t know why. Reframe Your Shame provides awareness and resources to help listeners

  • recognize the warning signs of toxic shame and addiction;
  • accept truth and take responsibility for their own journey of emotional healing and growth;
  • find freedom from shame, self-defeating hurts, hang-ups, and habits;
  • learn to communicate, connect with others, and resolve both internal and relational conflicts; and
  • discover practical tools to live with purpose, free from the baggage of the past.

Perfect for those fighting a personal battle, or for family members and counselors walking with them, Reframe Your Shame sets them on a path to freedom.

Great testimonial

The book was good overall but if you follow her on social media most of the stories had been told already during her sermons.

Great Job Irene! This will teach vulnerability for many years!

The fact that everybody is dealing with some kind of addiction is real. It does not have to be labeled alcoholism, or an addition to drugs, pornography, mental sabotage, social media etc. is also an addiction and must be treated.

Freedom journey for women

This is a great story of a freedom journey for women. Women are often expected to be everything to everyone or put on their church face. Pastor Rollins talks about her very relatable journey moving from hiding and shame to exposed freedom. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

Excellent book, full of hope

I love when an author is the storyteller, so I can hear her words in her own voice. Irene Rollins shared her story of recovery from alcoholism and gave us incredible insight into her deep-dive journey to discovering what lay under the surface, fueling her drive to drink. She did so much work in counseling, soul-searching, sharing in recovery meetings, and soaking up wisdom from others like a sponge. With God's help and her commitment, she took all of that and used it to propel her toward healing and wholeness for herself, her family, and for all of us readers. Personally, I am on edge after listening, realizing that I have alot of work to do facing my own food addiction, anxiety, and any other pending problems that make me want to numb. It's like Irene is holding up a mirror, and I can't look away. Reframe Your Shame is powerful, transformational, inspiring, and motivating. I will treat this book as a playbook, and Irene is the coach.

Do yourself a favor & listen (or buy the book)

The concept of shame is complex. It manifest in different ways for different people. I love the way Pastor Irene unpacks the concept by sharing her testimony, but also telling the story in a way that encourages you to think about the ways in which I’ve taken hold of shame in my own life. In no way is it condemning, but I certainly had my share of convictions. The story is real, the suggestions are practical and use of biblical truths is a gentle reminder of whose we are we and His love which frees us.
