Londyn McCormack didn't have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at 16, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn't have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home.
Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she'd found something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she's running away again, this time to find a lost friend.
She's driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it's her ride to freedom.
Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both.

Review: This is book 1 in the Runaway Series. It was my first book by Devney and definitely won't be my last!
I love the premise behind this series. Six friends who grew up in a junkyard together. All reconnecting over a car that once was home. I loved that this junkyard was in the next city to where I live and that I go to multiple times a week. It's so fun thinking about these characters everytime I'm there. We start the journey with Londyn and Brooks. This small town in West Virginia was so entertaining and I adored Brooks. My heart hurt for Londyn and what she went through, but she definitely ended up where she was meant to be. I listened to the audiobook by Jason Clarke and Maxine Mitchell. They did a great job bringing Brooks and Londyn to life! I can't wait for Gemma and Easton next!
Such a perfect start to this series!

Londyn has always been a wondering soul who has never quite found her place. On a mission to start over after her husband cheated on her, she hits the road and winds up in a little town in West Virginia. With her car needing a tow, she meets Brooks and the sparks fly. Brooks is an amazing listener with baggage of his own. However, when these two connection their attraction is so swoon worthy.
I loved Jason Clarke and Maxine Mitchell's performances on this book. This may be the first time I've heard them paired together. Their voices complimented each other and flowed so well. I loved Maxine's ability to fully feel all the emotions of Londyn. Jason Clarke's performance with a heavy West Virginian drawl was quite unique.
Overall, I loved this book and audio, and look forward to more in this series.
