About this listen

A wealthy couple is brutally murdered in their kitchen. The only witness, their six-year-old daughter, goes missing. The child’s birth mother is charged with the crime.

Small town lawyer Cass Leary takes the case that could rip her family apart. Her sister Vangie stands accused in the double homicide of an affluent Ann Arbor couple. All the physical evidence points to Vangie’s guilt, and Cass knows she’s been keeping secrets. But, is she truly capable of murder?

As Cass digs deeper, dark suspicion grows against her own sister. It’s a race against time as the clues pile up against Vangie and the chances of finding her little girl alive dwindle. To find the truth and unmask a killer, Cass will have to risk her reputation and her life.

Silent Witness is the second book in series of high-stakes legal thrillers. If you like blood-pumping action, compelling characters, and twisted crime conspiracies, then you’ll love Robin James’s pause-resisting tale.

The story is great, but I've made it through 3 of these books and I'm sorry, but the narrator's voice gets more an more tinny and nasal with each book. I'm not going to be finishing this series sadly because of this.

good story-i can't take the narrator anymore

Good story and easy to read. Did not like the narration for this book. Easily lost in her reading.

Please choose another narrator.

This a great listen and story line. Little Jessa just captures your heart! Cannot wait to start the book in the series.

Great Book and Story

Story line moves along smoothly. Would have enjoyed the book so much more if unnecessary expletives were replaced with language used by more “polite society.” Given that most of the characters are described as educated people, anticipate they could express their anger, outrage, disgust (etc.) with classier, more appropriate and less vulgar verbiage. Narrator ended many sentences in abrupt, breathy phrases.

Plot great. Riveting moments.

Great story, great characters, great narration. I know books 3 and 4 are available on audible, I hope book 5 will be available soon and book 6 when the book version releases.

Another excellent story

Nice story but so predictable. The characters didn’t seem developed enough to really anticipate a great ending.

Predictable

I liked the suspense and the plot. I enjoyed the way characters relationships developed. The story was complete and didn’t leave the reader confused.

Strong Family bonds

I liked the pace of the story; the narrator, and the balance of details that kept the reader engaged and in suspense.

The suspense

This second of the series was very boring. It read more like an outline. There was no passion, no feeling. I just didn't care what happened. I rarely fail to finish books but this one was one of them. Save your credits.
