If I had listen to a sample before purchasing, this, I would not have. Nine times out of 10, it’s just really not a good idea for the author to narrate his or her own book. Ms. Green’s voice was too soft, and her accent prevented me from understanding at first until I got used to it. The story dragged for me and I just couldn’t get into it. I did not finish it. The first book was very short, and I finished that, but could not get beyond the second or third chapter of the second book. Maybe a different narrator, perhaps a performer, would’ve made it better.
