About this listen

When Tripp Keaton wakes up, he discovers that he is an orc. An orc in a strange world, with the skeletons of humongous beasts scattered around him.

This isn’t a normal morning.

Deep in the world of an online game, Tripp finds himself alone, weaponless, and with nobody to call a friend. Worse, the game’s god-like controller has taken an interest in him, and that interest manifests itself in cruel ways.

If he is to survive, he has to learn how to craft legendary weapons and find allies to fight with him. He must battle his way through a labyrinth of monsters and traps, while surviving wave upon wave of creatures unleashed into the land of Godden’s Reach.

It isn’t enough to make a sword. When the metal cools, he must learn how to weave magic into it.

What a Tripp

I really enjoyed following his journey through Soulbox. Tripp is an interesting character. I'm looking forward to book 2.

Great book

Easy to listen to even though it’s pretty long. Fun book. If you like fantasy you’ll like this book.

Could have been great

This book has a great concept but it lacks continuity. it was slow to develop and all the characters were created with the insecurity mold in hand. The MC could have been great but (spoiler alert) who in their right mind creates an orc MC and make him weak as a kitten and as passive as Gandhi. I would rather watch paint dry than to listen to another character whine or cry about how bad their parents treated them here's a life tip "Crap happens you are grown get over it!" the writer takes this so far as to even give the computer program psychological problems. someone needs counseling...... if the story would have flowed through the growth of a crafter path and not went against the known nature of an orc with the added dynamic of keeping the rivalry between the MC and the AI on a linear direction. this would have been a great book. But the story arch of an insane completely out of control AI without boundaries took away from the underpowered naive orc who was trying to become a master crafter. Basically I recommend you buy The Crafters Dungeon series at least you get a better story.

Well done, but drop Treacle, its to much.

Great tension, good mc, and is very relatable. But stop saying treacle all the time. It is distracting to hear such a seldomly used word more than a couple of times in just the first half of the story. That's my only bitch and really that's trivial. I'm sure my opinion may fall in the treacle catagory but there it is. I will by more in the series. Cheers!
