Alan Lee's best yet

Great original story set in MacKenzie August's Roanoke (with a cameo) but more atmospheric than the other August novels. Enhanced by superb narration.

Exciting Listen

I highly recommend this book. The main characters were great. I loved the inner monologue and witty humor of the main characters. There were plenty of twists and turns. The author did an excellent job of not giving away too much too soon. The narrator did an excellent job of performing the story.

Caution Alan Lee Books are Addictive

I so enjoyed finding this on audible. I read the first McKenzie August book on Kindle Unlimited and became a fan. I so look forward to the next book and visits from characters of other of each series.

Outstanding

Seriously good
We’ll crafted characters and story
We all know megalomaniacs, but this guy is next level
The contrast with the other protagonists is so well done
The narrator Also fabulous, manages to pass on malevolence and empathy with equal measure

Just ok.

Great narrator, but the story didn't really grip me. I listened to the end, but will ook for something else now in this genre.

Great start to a new series...

This is an author I am unfamiliar with but not for long! After listening to this book I will be going back and purchasing his other series, Mackenzie August. That character makes an appearance in this book and seems to be right up the ally I like to go.
This book is a super suspense/thriller. New man in town runs into multimillionaire attorney who also happens to be a sociopathic bully and unknown to most serial killer. The people in town are cowed by the attorney who has the power to influence their careers either positive or negatively. There is some predictability but it’s a fun, fast ride getting where you believe you’re going.
Sean Patrick Hopkins does an outstanding job narrating.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Very good book

i've enjoyed all of the Alan Lee books. Great characters. Some humor. I like the suspense and the humor in all of Mr. Lee's books. Thank you and keep writing. I just wish he could write as fast as I read.

Good narrator, weak story

such weak characters! In the beginning, no one has the courage to do the right thing, it changes in the end when everyone is bold and courageous. The main antagonist is shown to be very powerful, yet he is psychotic behaviors that seems Ludacris. No sign of him being a good lawyer is described, just mentioned many times that he is a very good lawyer. How, with all these ridiculous talks and insane behavior, Peter can practice law is baffling!

Boring

Boring and bland. It never really took off. Also, not very believable, especially the supposed "climax".
