About this listen

From USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry comes a sweeping Western romance about undeniable attraction, unforeseen circumstances, and seemingly unbeatable odds.

My first day in Montana, I got into a tug-of-war over a grocery store shopping cart. The most handsome man I’d ever seen broke up the scuffle before he asked me on a date. I was seconds away from accepting but then he told me his name.

As an owner of the Haven River Ranch, Jax Haven wasn’t my boss. But he wasn’t not my boss either.

Obviously, my only option was to turn him down, scurry away, then pretend like he was a stranger on my first day of work. And obviously, I could never, ever admit that he was my secret crush.

For as hard as I work at my job, I work twice as hard to pretend Jax doesn’t exist. I don’t let myself think about his dazzling eyes or charming smile. I refuse to acknowledge how good he looks in a pair of faded Wrangler jeans. And as tempting as he is in a cowboy hat, Jax is a distraction I cannot afford.

Everything was going according to plan until the annual holiday party. Until I drank one too many flutes of champagne and let him sweep me off my feet. After a night in his bed, there was no more ignoring Jax Haven. Not when I’m pregnant with his baby.

Sunlight by Devney Perry,

Absolutely freaking loved it! Ok first I had all these ideas of who Eddie was and why Sasha was writing to him bit was I wrong. It was heartbreaking nonetheless when you know the whole truth of who he is and why she is in Montana. I wanted to get into the pages box the book and hug Sasha so many times and just give her some love. She lost her parents and now she was in a new place where she felt out of place and the only person who only made her feel safe she felt she couldn’t be with. I loved that Jax didn’t give up he kept pushing her boundaries and showed her he was there for her. They needed each other and I loved that they found each other. My heart breaks for Jax with the whole Lilly situation but I wish we had gotten a better understanding of that and they would have ended up better than they did. I mean it was an improvement but I think I wanted so much more. Simply try is es such a great book I absolutely loved it and I definitely recommend it.

I was lucky enough to be able to hear the audiobook and let me tell you wow does it make such a difference ñ. I mean I already loved the book right because it is such a great book but then you listen to the narrators and wham such an amazing experience. The narrators do such an amazing job at bringing Jax and Sasha to life. They help transport you into r he pages of the story and into the ranch right along with the characters. Loved it!!

5 STARS! Heartfelt & steamy surprise pregnancy cowboy romance!

Devney Perry is back with Sunlight, another completely captivating small-town cowboy romance in the Haven River Ranch series. Sizzling with electric chemistry and rich in emotional depth, this story focuses on Jax, the charming playboy ranch owner, and Sasha, the resort’s new manager. The two are thrown into a forbidden workplace romance following their one night stand that results in an unexpected surprise. The slow-burn tension between them builds beautifully, blending passion with emotional complexity as their relationship unfolds.

I listened to the audiobook, performed in dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson, who both turned in stellar performances. Stephen Dexter’s rendition of Jax was perfection, Ava Erickson’s Sasha was wonderfully vulnerable and understandably cautious, and their natural chemistry brought this couple to life in my ears. Perry’s storytelling is both heartfelt and steamy resulting in an authentic and magnetic connection. Perry delivers yet another engaging, well-crafted cowboy romance brimming with heart and heat set in her beloved Montana! Five smooches from me for Sunlight by Devney Perry!

Book 2

Sasha Vaughn says her move to Montana is only temporary. She hates the cold, snowy winters. She hates her apartment with the loud, drunken neighbors. She argues with the owner of the grocery store. But she does like her job at Haven River Ranch, even though she tries to avoid Jax Haven, one of the co-owners of the ranch. Jax asked Sasha out when she came to town. He is too handsome and sexy, making Sasha forget she needs to concentrate on her job and making money. It's the whole reason she's in Montana. When Sasha has a little too much champagne at the Annual Holiday party, Jax sweeps her off her feet and into his bed. Now, a month later, she must tell Jax the results of their one-night stand which will be arriving in approximately eight months.

This is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series. I had a problem with Sasha always trying to avoid Jax, not talking to him for weeks or months at a time. She sometimes acted like a young child. But I did like the little game that Jax and Sasha would play when they actually talk to each other. They would ask the other to "Tell me a secret" or "Tell me a lie" or "Tell me a story". This enabled them to get to know each other and for us to get to know these characters. It was a smart way to tell a story that really didn't have much going for it plot wise.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson. It was a nice way to while away the hours. My rating: 4 Stars.

Loooooove

I’m usually a silent reader/listener, but I loved this book so much. As a social worker, there were so many great elements in this story that were very well depicted. I deeply appreciated how Devney told a story of two people with terribly traumatic past, and how they learn and grow from their traumas together.
