Publisher's summary

One night of complete surrender is all it takes.

Gareth Harris is Manchester United's reclusive star defender. He has control over all aspects of his life. But a lifetime of supporting his siblings and filling in for an emotionally absent father has taken its toll.

Sloan Montgomery is a clothing stylist whose world was turned upside down when she found herself pregnant and moving to Manchester with a man who was never supposed to be her forever. Now recently divorced and struggling with shared custody of her daughter, control is a fleeting concept for this American living in England.

Both Gareth and Sloan are in need of a release. A moment in time where they can forget about their pasts and family pressures...and just...surrender. No one could predict what happens when both of their defences are down.

Surrender is part one of the Final Harris Brother Duet and concludes with Dominate. This duet is a great listen on its own, but to maximize enjoyment, check out the first three brothers books in Challenge, Endurance, and Keeper.

Loved it!

My first audio book and I loved it. Great story with great narration. Thankfully the 2nd installment is out in a couple hours cause this baby ends on a cliffy.

love it

So, so, sooo good! Great storyline but even better narration. The duet style narration is great because you can hear all the emotion and vulnerability in both voices which makes the story feel more alive. That ending though! I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

Highly recommended.

I'm Left Desperate For More

I have already read and reviewed the book but that in no way would stop me from having the audio version in my library. I've come to expect Will Watt and Charlotte Cole to read me the Harris Brothers'. But this time they gave me a pleasant surprise. I've been introduced to Piper Goodeve. Mr. Watt showed how dominating a presence Gareth Harris is. Ms. Goodeve showed how much Sloan has had to endure but she's given herself permission to explore more with the right person.

When you have someone, like our narrators here, reading a very emotional story they give you that little bit extra that you wouldn't get if you were reading it yourself. I was able to pick up on the real emotions that Gareth and Sloan were experiencing. The one thing that we did have in common was that we were all left hanging. They also left me wanting the next book now.

This author has such a way with words. She makes it very easy to follow the story she has created. Ms. Daws also took the time to show the cultural differences between our main characters - just gives the story that extra touch. I'd love to pack my bags; get on a plane and go watch a soccer, oh excuse me football, while listening to this series - I don't suppose they have 24 hour games do they. She also shows her devious side by giving us the "to be continued" type of ending.

I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.

Amazing!!!

Omg! Surrender is EVERYTHING!!! I can’t tell you how much I loved it. I went through the full gamut of emotions. From laughing to crying, it had it all. And I loved Freya’s obsession with Heartland. It was hilarious how she acted about the show(especially since I love the show too😊) The narrators were AMAZING❤️❤️ The male narrator’s voice... swoon! It was sooo sexy. I just don’t even know what to say. I can’t wait for part 2!

One of her best books!

The story itself was amazing and the erotica was some of her best work yet. However, Sloan's narrator wasn't my favorite. It didn't take away from the story, but her voice is off putting and noticeable and doesn't flow like everyone else's. It's not the accent, but her tone and inflection that's like nails on a chalk board. Other than that, the story line was perfect! I just wish it didn't leave us hanging the way it did.

🔥🔥🔥

I can never get enough of the Harris Brothers, and Amy Daws’ writing is fabulously showcased with this series. I absolutely love the strong family dynamic that continues to flow throughout this series. They’re up in each other’s business, but they have the best of intentions. It’s so nice to see those family scenes come up frequently.

Gareth has been a bit of a mystery as he previously appeared in his brother’s books. After reading this first half of this two-part duet, I am pleasantly surprised. I have mixed feelings about Sloan. Some of her behavior and thoughts concerning certain things like her daughter were a bit strange and off-putting. I didn’t always like how she presented herself, but she starts to redeem herself as this book comes to the end.

We don’t see a lot of Gareth and Sloane’s relationship during the first part as the story jumps in time a bit. Rather, we’re told about it but that attraction and their inevitable union is still believable. They have really great, intense chemistry, and I liked that the sexy scenes are steamy and passionate but tasteful.

I really liked how the last bit of the novel played out. I felt like it was packed with all the good stuff, whereas the first section was more drawn out and bumpy. The last few chapters revved things up and made that shocking cliffhanger pop.

The duet style of narration works so perfectly, and I’m glad Amy Daws continues to use it. Will Watt is supreme. He has nailed every character in this series, and Gareth is no exception. His frustration, passion, anger, vulnerability… it’s all there to hear in his execution.
Charlotte Cole is adorable and upbeat, and I’m so happy she was able to pop in for some of the other characters.
Piper Goodeve who voices Sloan is an interesting addition to the series. I liked the way she narrated sometimes, but other times it sounded a bit stiff. I wasn’t getting the emotions that Sloan was expressing. I’m not sure whether this was intentionally how Sloan was supposed to read or if the narrator’s choices lent a hand at making Sloan a bit disconcerting and unlikable for me.

Overall, I love where this story is headed and I’m eager for the second half of it. I highly recommend this book and series. I suggest they be read in order even though they technically could be read out of order.

Phenomenal

You don't want to miss out on part 1 of Sloan & Gareth’s story! This book takes you one hell of a heavy rollercoaster ride. This book is full of angst, scorching hot chemistry, humor, lots of steam, and SO. MUCH. PAIN. It’s a beautiful story until it wasn't and I wanted to scream at the author, and then she twisted the knife a little bit further...with that damn mother of all cliffhangers!! 🤬 Thank God I don’t have to wait for the next book to be released...I honestly wouldn’t be able to handle the wait!! Do yourself a favor & read this series. Piper Goodeve, Charlotte Cole and Will Watt do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.

Will Mother F-ing Watt!!

I know my rave reviews of this narrator is getting old. I know my love of him is old. But he is the best. Literally the all time greatest. This was a different turn on the Harris Brothers. Garrett’s story will rip your heart and have you wanting to just hold him.

The love he had for his mother and his entire family makes it where you know that he needs to give up some of that control. He is so wonderfully innocent in some ways.

Sloan is so awesome and tough you can’t imagine how she doesn’t get it. She doesn’t see how incredible she really and truly is.

I can’t wait for more.

Amy Daws is QUEEN!!!

This is book has rendered me speechless. I LOVE Gareth and Sloan so HARD and we were warned that it was going to be a helluva cliffhanger (duh - DUET!) but I still was not ready for it. Even when I sort of saw it coming (because like the talented author that she is, Amy Daws dropped the most subtle foreshadowing in there for us), I was still FLABBERGASTED by the ending. Duet is the most magical manner to do audiobooks, especially when Will Watt and his gruff tone and delicious accent are involved. Surrender is wholly unique (I fully stand behind this absolute statement because it is true for me as a reader) and utterly unputdownable (I literally lost sleep over this gem) and I wish that I could fast forward life to the time when Dominate magically shows up on my kindle. Surrender is one of my Best of 2018 reads, I immediately put it in my Amazon cart because I need the paperback in my life, but I'm going to wait to pull the trigger for when Dominate comes out so that I can have them both. And being the slightly obsessive book lover that I am, I'll probably end up with the rest of the series in paperback as well... And the London Lovers series since it's connected. Fly money fly... 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Completely unputdownable!! A total winner!

This duet has completely won my heart and taken my emotions to new heights. Just when you think the previous books were really great stories with outstanding narration, in comes the last brother's story and completely takes it's place as #1. The story line is so well done and extremely engaging, the chemistry and set up of how these characters meet and their relationship develops is nothing short of genius and the narration is on another level of perfection. I will not give out any spoilers, but will say that, to me, this is the sexiest and most yummy of all the books in the series. Amy Daws delivered!! One of the best duets for me this year!
