In depth analysis of herd
This book is well written. Some nitpicks, if you are healing from gerd, you might need to be more restrictive than what Dr Aviv recommends.
I have been a patient of Dr Aviv, and the book is honestly better than his clinic - he is always busy, has too many patients to really entertain full explanations with them.

Excellent information about acidity and our diets - things we often eat without realizing what it may be doing to our bodies!! Acidity is bot really something we discuss very often and something we should be talking about more!
This book very much helped to raise my awareness of things I’m eating that could be causing damage to my body and I’ll be trying the AWD eating plan to see how my body responds including AI issues I’ve dealt with for decades. Thx Dr. Aviv!

I wish I’ve found this book before
Less than 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Barret’s esophagus (I’m 43 years old) After a long time with a phlem at night, post nasal dripping feeling (told by my ENT it was allergies) and having NO symptoms of reflux or regurgitation or similar at all, I started with very weird symptoms including chronic urticaria. Any of my “renew” top doctors of the DC Metro area gave me any hint of what I may have been experiencing. The flare up urticaria along with angiodema with no reason at all lead 7 different specialists to a thousands of lab test where the common was a high reactive protein that meant “ inflammation” … Doctors didn’t know the correct diagnosis, the lack of information of GERD & Acid Reflux is so low in the medical community. This book open my eyes and although there is no way back for me, as I have to take meds for the rest of my life, I have learned so much and know how to take better care of myself.

Life changing!
3 months ago I had surgery as the “last option” in treating my long standing GERD and have any hope of getting off two PPI medications. No one, nor I, ever questioned my diet, my lifestyle actions, or if I knew anything about the Acid Watcher Diet. I wish I’d learned of this book pre op. I’d have postponed surgery and requested 3-6 months to see if I couldn’t turn things around without surgery by closely following the Acid Watcher Diet. Well, at 10 weeks post op the heartburn, hoarseness, and regurgitation returned with a vengeance. I picked up a book I already had on my bookshelf (but had only skimmed) - The Acid Watcher Cookbook. Began to read that and learned of the book The Acid Watcher Diet. Immediately: found it on Audible, placed a hold on a copy at my library, ordered a new/used copy of my own thru www.thriftbooks.com, and snagged an ebook version via my library’s Libby app! I’m all in. I just
finished the Audible version. I started the changes immediately, two days ago. I am very hopeful. Thank you! ps: I’ll keep my eyes open for an updated version. This one was copyrighted in 2017. It is now August 2022. I will be passing this life changing AWD news along! Bravo for writing this book!

Life changing!
This book has really opened my eyes and helped me immensely - and almost immediately! I have been suffering from acid reflux and “throat burn reflux” for the last several years and never realized how deeply it is tied to my diet. I thought I was just “allergic”’to certain foods. After going on the Healing Phase and then the Maintenance Phase oI the diet, I can say that my digestion is, at least, 50% better, if not more. For the first time in years, I actually look forward to preparing my meals, and eating is, once again, an adventure! I have recommended this book to several medical professionals and friends of mine. I also bought “The Acid Watcher Cookbook” and am looking forward to enjoying those recipes.

Fantastic and just gets better!
I really respect this Dr/author and it would be an honor to have the opportunity to meet and shake hands. I found Jonathan Aviv on youtube and quickly consumed all of the content there before downloading and a few months later listening to this book. I've never desired to go to a book signing before but if I heard of one somewhere within a few hours drive I think I'd go. Just a very cool intelligent helpful genuine individual - a rarity! I appreciate you Jonathan Aviv and will continue to recommend your book to many.
