Forget the summer I turned pretty…that was the summer I got hips, acne, and utterly humiliated by Aaron Richmond.
This summer? This is the summer I had to marry the bastard. When I walk down the aisle towards my enemy, all to save the Coleman family fortune, I shouldn’t give in to my wounded inner 14-year old-self. I should smile, blink up at him prettily, and declare to have and to hate…Err...hold.
Too bad I’m Granny Madge’s namesake.
As soon as I begrudgingly say, I do, I toss three tiers of wedding cake on my new husband, kick him in the balls, and down a whole bottle of champagne.
He retaliates by dropping me face-first in his foyer after carrying me over the marital threshold.
I respond in a mature manner by eating a bag of chips in his bed and letting my cat puke on his pillow.
Yeah, this is totally how I’d always fantasized about becoming Mrs. Richmond during my teenage infatuation.
That obsession? Gone.
Never to return.
Not even when he takes off his shirt and his hair is slightly messy over his forehead…
In fact, I loudly declare that I am dryer than my mom’s spelt muffins.
Suddenly that six-five muscular body is hovering over me—the deep voice purring in my ear…
“This will go easier for you if you aren’t.”
Gulp. We’re not married like that.
There’s a dangerous glint in his eye when he drops the 530 page marriage contract on the table, turns to page 280 and informs me that we have to consummate the marriage or the whole thing is null and void.
“You should have read the contract, Coleman.”
Damn him he’s right.
Because if I’d known I’d have to sleep with my husband, I never would have married him.
This is a full-length, enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy, complete with smokin’ hot-but-festooned-in-red-flags heroes, a shocking amount of spice from two people who claim to hate each other, and of course the perfect happily ever after!

Possible Triggers: It had the feeling of a bully romance but it was more of pushing the other away and/or protecting themselves from being hurt again. But they were very mean to each other at points. If we didnt see inside their heads and what was really going on, it would have been bad. Also the spice has dirty talk, like I mean dirty. And due to the past it is quite k inky. BDSM, degrading, restrains, role play.
I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved it! I think that hearing the voices gives you so much more as a reader. You really can feel the emotions. You connect much quicker to the characters as well. These narrators were top notch.
I love this type of book. No angst, comedy, hot billionaires with hot spice thrown in. Nice and light. Is it for everyone? No. But it is my cup of hot chocolate. I don't want to be sad or anxious with the books I read.
This is not the first book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand-alone. However I think you will get more out of it if you have read the other books as you have met some of the characters before. But don’t let that deter you. This can be a stand-alone. But it will make you want to read all the other books!
You will get some fun little Easter eggs though if you have read some of the other series. But they are just minor, so if you haven't read the books you won't miss anything. But if you have the Easter eggs will give you quite a giggle.

Daisy was pure feisty sunshine and full of naivety while Aaron was grumpy, dark and full of guilt and tormenting feelings. These two played off each other and sometimes brought the worst out of each other, but once they admitted their attraction, Daisy lightened Aaron and gave him a taste of a life he desperately wanted. Torn between family obligation and what he wants, he has to make a choice of what path to follow.
Beth Roeg and Jack Calihan narrated the audio and both were great as Daisy and Aaron. They were new narrators to me and I enjoyed their performances very much.
Daisy and Aaron verbally sparred non-stop and their snarky, spicy banter was full of fire. Aaron’s dark side was matched by the inexperienced Daisy and their chemistry was electric. A bit dark and full of steam, The Art of Marrying Your Enemy was an enjoyable read.
She was pure sunshine after a lifetime in the dark
