Jacqui's Experience

Wished I read this years ago. Since I stay busy I am really attracted to the idea of doing nothing and let my energy attract people to me. This was worthwhile listening to.

It was a bit cheesy at points but gave me a different outlook on mingling

This book is only helpful if your a 55 year old living in 1997 that regular attends sales conference. It should be called “The Art of Being Boring”

How to be a weirdo

If you do everything she says in this book you will be the most annoying person at any party. I cannot believe I paid for this. I heard her talk on the Art of Manliness podcast and she seemed to have some good ideas around how to mingle, something I am very bad at. However, like a bad comedy movie, she put all the good parts in the preview, and the rest is complete garbage, also her voice is incredibly annoying. Don't buy this book in text or especially audio form!

Absolutely LAME!

What disappointed you about The Art of Mingling?

This is really a stupid book. That may not be a very sophisticated way to phrase this, but it is the only way I can think to describe it. I thought it might help me with some artful ways to start conversations with people I don't know—plus, provide some other creative ways to navigate a social gathering--but it doesn't. Most all of the suggestions are pedantic and lame. Don't be fooled into buying it.

What was most disappointing about Jeanne Martinet’s story?

The suggestions are so silly and lame.

What didn’t you like about Jeanne Martinet’s performance?

It is okay, but her voice is a bit grating.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No
