About this listen

Mankind has failed to stop a growing rift for more than a decade. It will destroy all life on Aathon if nothing changes. But when Leo arrives with half of the human army, it seems that every leader is finally intent on stopping this growing rift together. What Leo will find out, however, is that some of these very powerful people don't see the rift as a problem. They intend to use it as an opportunity.

Leo faces many obstacles that stand in the way of destroying the rift, while Andar and Rygen encounter their own issues. Assistance comes in the form an expert mage who has reappeared after his disappearance many years ago, but some believe it was this mage who created the rift in the first place. There are strange things about him, but the strangest of all is that he appears to be the same age as when he disappeared 23 years ago.

As this mage involves himself with Leo and the plot to destroy the rift, Leo must quickly figure out how much he can trust this mage and how much he must rely on himself.

Good for adolescent/YA

Not a bad story to give a chance to but after this third book it felt like deja vu.
This is the third series I've started thats creeps slowly, length just about right for sale and seems formulated to fit for future sales. Not continuing this series, reaching ending and learning characters fate not that compelling.

Not the best of the series.

Very repetitive and redundant, especially for readers of the series.Did not build enough to make me want to read the next book.

Fantastic!

This series is enchanting! I finished the last two books quickly and will probably finish this one in no time. I've even been listening to it during quieter moments at work. I love the plot and the characters. The struggles are relatable (to a point) and victories are exciting. Great action and description of battle. The concept of "magic" and the way the energies are manipulated by mages is a refreshing take. Have fun!

Still interesting

Although there r too much fighting and too much explaining of magic that I didn’t get - the story kept me interested. So here I’m going for the fourth book.

Can’t Get Enough of these Books

As the story continues I get drawn in even more. I find myself staying up late just to finish a chapter and start another. Magic, monsters, love it has it all and the narrator really brings a special touch. On to the next one

A bit dull

The plot is okay, but even when things are happening, it feels slow. The magic system is interesting, but, nobody really knows how or why any of it works. Three books in, and it's still a mystery. The main characters swerve wildly between being powerful prodigies, and weak children. Teens the size of grown men, wishing for hugs from daddy after fighting trained soldiers. The human enemies make little sense. Most men are either paragons of virtue or child molesters. Enemy army is run by men who want to be rich right now, knowing they doom the world in the not so distant future but not caring a bit. When Leo starts fantasizing about the lips of his 14yo gf, it goes on and on and on and I just can't be bothered with the next book.
