About this listen

In all the games Matt has played, dungeons are places to raid, places you dream of conquering, but when the world is stripped of electricity, and the first mana-twisted beasts start to prowl, the games all come to an end....

Matt's just an ordinary guy, but when he's beaten, robbed, and left for dead, bleeding out at the bottom of a gully, it all has to change as he grasps frantically at his only chance for survival, coming as it does in the form of a glowing, dangerously pulsing light.

With his reality forever altered, Matt must quickly find a suitable place to deploy the Dungeon Core, fighting his way through the hundreds of people between him and safety, because if he doesn't do it soon, a Core Detonation will solve all of his problems for him....permanently.

Welcome to the New World.

Great blend of fantasy apocalypse

I usually don't read apocalypse storys but I love the blend of RPG magic and Apocalypse setting. I love the main characters attitude about his situation. Also why id never be with anyone in a apocalypse other people just make things harder.

not bad

I have listened to over 300 books and this on is definitely one I would keep listening to. I feel the MC is not thinking things all the way through but that's not a bad thing. the count was like 5-6 times he gets knocked out but for me the people he is fighting are the stupid ones all that's needed to do was kill him but nope after he killed like 5-6 of there men but nope the left him alive over and over.

I normally don't do this

I usually go book by book on reviews. This is the one author I have thoroughly loved since I discovered him. He currently has three series being written. I have read AND listened to all available. Underverse, Rise of Mankind, and his latest, Alpha Arise. Cajiao has a massive talent and a dedication to his craft, that is thoroughly displayed over 10 great books in just a few years.

Sleeper

No it doesn’t put you to sleep it wakes you up if anything. This starts out slowly with our MC making some rather questionable choices and suffering the consequences for them, but then as it picks up and gets it’s stride it just goes and doesn’t stop. I am genuinely impressed with this opening to a new series, and while I do admit it needs some polishing, it’s got some fantastic Potential, and I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series. I just wish it was already out

Cool concept

I like the story kinda. Amy and Alyssa can die they keep pulling the MC in the wrong direction he’s already a little stupid or should I say lacking common sense at times. Not as bad as the new cliche MC though

Slow burn that kinda pays off

The first half of the book until he gets his class is really hard to get into. Also the main character for sure has hella mood swings. Dude is joking and hitting on a girl then threatening her the very next sentence. And he continues these mood swings the entire book. The last 1hr is pretty good though. But also this book is pretty light on the dungeon core aspect. More of a post apocalypse fantasy book. I’ll probably continue the series but if the 2nd one is as slow as this one I’ll probably DNF.

Good bad decisions

Slow start dungeon core in post apocalyptic Newcastle. Worth the read for a series I hope that keeps getting better. The main character does make bad decisions but if he was perfect why would I enjoy it? We as readers understand much more about what is coming then he does. his bad decisions are ones anyone would make in such a crazy situation.

Worth a credit.
