About this listen

Kerrigan Hale’s personal life is about as exciting as a bucket of tar. With hard work and hustle as her steadfast companions, who needs romance or adventure? Her empire in Calamity, Montana, isn’t going to build itself.

For years, her mentor—and investor—helped make her dreams come true. Until his unexpected death put her fate in his grandson’s hands. A brazen billionaire, he seems intent on ruining Kerrigan’s life.

But if Pierce Sullivan thinks she’ll go down without a fight, he’s sorely mistaken. Pushed to the extreme, she drives to his ritzy mountain lodge to force the arrogant You Can Call Me Mr. Sullivan to hear her out.

No sooner does she arrive than a snowstorm traps her with Pierce. Stranded together for days, she’s in for the battle of her life. Pierce is nearly irresistible by candlelight. Without his suits and fancy cars, he’s almost human.

Except only a fool would let down her guard. And Kerrigan can’t risk her future. Not when she doesn’t know if he’s out to pilfer her dreams…or to steal her heart.

Decent listen

I really enjoyed the heroine, strong woman determined to move past what's expected of her in order to leave a big life on her own terms

Favorite book, favorite series

After reading this whole series (my favorite of Devney’s so far) I can’t get over this book. The story is the perfect balance of enemies to loves and swoon worthy all at the same time. The spice in this book is a 10/10 and you can’t help fall in love with their love for each other. The narrators made this book even better!

Good Narration and Story

This is probably my favorite so far of this series. The tension was just right. I don't enjoy when the disagreement lasts too long into the story. Better that outside sources drive the struggle later.

Small Town Goodness

I ❤ Small Town Romances and Willa Nash/Devney Perry writes some of The Best! Each Calamity Montana series book can be read as a Stand Alone but are much more enjoyable when read in order.. I Absolutely fell in Love with this book! An Enemies to Lovers Romances with that spark of attraction that neither can fight! Kerrigan and Pierce's Chemistry was Undeniable, and sizzled the whole way through their story. I adored how they constantly and continuously bickered, the fine line between Love and Hate.. This story is all about Second Chances, Love, Forgiveness, Trust, Honesty, and Faith. It's full of will they won't they, the push and pull, and a Beautiful Tale of Self Love and Acceptance!! I Thoroughly Enjoyed Everything about this Book, it was one HECK of an Emotional Rollercoaster Ride.. Definitely Your Next 5 ⭐ Read..

Great story.

The Brazen is packed full of goodness. It’s enemies to lovers full of laughters and spice. It has a little bit of family drama on both sides, the hero and the heroine that will keep readers guessing but the author does an amazing job at capturing reader’s interest. Another beautiful book by author Willa Nash that I highly recommend.

Love

4.5 stars! Oh Mr. Sullivan how hot you are! There is just something about Pierce Sullivan that draws you in despite being an arrogant jerk to Kerrigan. I didn’t really understand how Kerrigan formed such a bond with Gabriel that he financed her entrepreneurial aspirations and obviously Pierce had his thoughts. Believing his grandfathers reasons to not be completely professional, Pierce wants all ties cut to Kerrigan’s loan when he inherits the debt. Little did he know this little spitfire has as much drive and passion for her business as he has for dumping it. The complexity of Pierce’s past is unthinkable and once the truth is out, Kerrigan finally understands. Can she forgive Pierce for drawing her into a passionate weekend and disappearing? Their story is is about letting go of their past and learning to focus on priorities, but these lessons are never learned without heartache. There is so much love surrounding Pierce and Kerrigan. I enjoyed watching them grow together.

❤️ A SWEET, FEEL-GOOD, LOW-ANGST ROMANCE ❤️

Calamity’s Property Entrepreneur Kerrigan had a wealthy mentor whose faith in her abilities drove her on, inspired her and he lent her money too.. but, when the elderly successful businessman suddenly dies, his estranged Billionaire Grandson Pierce inherits everything. The damaged Businessman drives from Denver Hellbent on severing her ties to his Company, wrecking her plans and dreams and collecting on her debt.. so bankrupting Kerrigan. And the first few times Pierce and Kerrigan meet it’s battle lines, angry glares and heated words.. however, Fate and Destiny interfere giving them a chance to act on the chemistry that’s been sizzling and flaring between them. And the mega snowstorm that Fate flung their way was overkill and clearly her showing off.. but it allowed them to talk freely, lower walls, let go of their hostilities, clear-up misconceptions and really get to know each other.. and what they discovered was love.. undeclared love.

But Billionaire Pierce Sullivan was holding a big secret close to his chest.. a commitment that stops him asking for more.. something important that drew him back to Denver.. and that just about broke Kerrigan’s heart. This man will be back.. he will be willing to reveal his secret.. he’ll show all his cards.. and he will hopefully claim his woman.. but will she be waiting.. or walking away?

Worth a credit? Yes I really enjoyed this feel-good romance where a drool-worthy hotshot Billionaire meets a sweet sassy woman with small town charm. It was a wee bit insta but sweet sentiments, adult conversations, sexy times and a soul-to-soul connection easily moulds and meanders through a low-angst listen. And the awesome dual POV narration by Ava and Aiden were perfect for the characters. And whether this author is writing as Devney Perry or Willa Nash it’s a ’one click’ sure bet for me.

Another solid addition to the Calamity Montana series!

The Brazen is the third book in the Calamity Montana series and this one was had so much more going on than the blurb gives away! This whole series has been solid for me.

I was so excited for this romance after seeing Kerrigan yell at the businessman (aka the hero) in the previous book in the series. Kerrigan is a busy landlady and owns multiple properties around Calamity, she’s determined to make herself successful and has endless ideas for DIY projects. She took a loan from her mentor and investor to make her dreams a reality but after her mentor’s sudden death, his grandson Pierce shows up to collect on the debt. They definitely butt heads right from the start, with Pierce also assuming Kerrigan was one of his grandfather’s mistresses. 😅 Pierce is so taken with Kerrigan from the start, and kind of hates that fact, but he can’t stay away from Calamity or Kerrigan. Their story takes off from there and turns into a lot more, including a bit of a time jump after some things go down.

I liked how Kerrigan and Pierce really open up to one another, they both have so much growth in the book which was also nice to see. Kerrigan’s family doesn’t take her business plans seriously and I loved seeing her stand up for herself and her dreams. I loved the scene where Pierce and Kerrigan get snowed in together during a storm. I was surprised with some of the things that happen later into the story and it definitely added to their character’s journey.
