Clear concise beginners guide

Where does The Complete Guide to Yoga rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I bought the ebook and was given the audio book for review. I suggest both because I found the illustrations helpful. The breathing exercises were easy to follow and the poses were enough challenge for a beginner like me. Great little book to get started in a positive direction and try a yoga routine. I plan to listen to the book while I do my morning routine.

What did you like best about this story?

It was "do-able" by someone like me that isn't able to do those pretzel poses.

What about Allyson Voller’s performance did you like?

I loved her narration, clear and perfectly paced.

What did you learn from The Complete Guide to Yoga that you would use in your daily life?

A good beginners routine I can do and stick with.

Surprising in its effectiveness.

Though the narrator speaks like any other bubbly and unrelateable yoga girl instructor, the information is clear and concise and easy to follow. Even the description of the poses without the benefit of pictures is clear. I would not go so far as to call it a complete guide but it is absolutely the best introduction to starting yoga on one's own that I have seen.

Great Intro to Yoga!

This is a great, short intro book into Yoga. I have been to a few classes before. But I have been wanting to learn more about Yoga in general, and this audiobook did not disappoint.

The audiobook starts by defining what Yoga is and it explains the different types, and goes into the beginnings and history of Yoga, and then describes the benefits of Yoga. Yoga can be used for fitness and strength conditioning, and can also help with issues like anxiety and insomnia.

The author then explains how to do breathing and stretching techniques, and also teaches some of the common Yoga poses (e.g., tree pose, child pose, etc.), and she goes over how to avoid common mistakes.

I though the narrator did a great job. She has a pleasant voice, and she speaks slowly and clearly enough for you to follow along. Normally, I would comment on the different voices a narrator would use. But since this is a nonfiction book, that is a moot point.

I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is looking to learn more about Yoga, or to someone who is just looking for a quick reference guide. This book was given to me at no cost for a fair and honest review.
