About this listen

Dr. Jane McGill is in heaven.

She’s got a great job at a VA Hospital, an adorable daughter, and a loving husband. Granted, it would be wonderful if her preschooler wouldn’t wake her up at three in the morning, and it would be a miracle if her husband would change the toilet paper roll once every millennium. Still, in most ways, she has the ideal life she’d always imagined.

Then Jane discovers that Dr. Ryan Reilly is the VA’s newest vascular surgeon. Dr. Ryan Reilly, a.k.a. sexy surgeon, a.k.a. the biggest jerk she ever loved.

A decade ago, Jane broke up with the sexy surgeon to marry the nice software engineer, but as cracks and crevices appear in her marriage, she can’t help but wonder what life would have been like if she’d made a different choice. Or if it isn’t too late to change her mind…

It was a good book

Story was good. However, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t more of Alyssa. Idk maybe because of the title and how the first book went. But I still enjoyed

Good follow up story

I enjoyed reuniting with Dr. Jane McGill. The story was a good continuation of the first book and was entertaining to listen to.

Great follow up story!

I really enjoyed the story or Dr. Jane McGill. Well written and very entertaining. I wish there was a third story with Dr. Jane McGill.

The devil you know

Good story but Jane really soured me. So self righteous for someone who is unable to potty train a 4 yo. Pathetic

I’m ready for book #3!

I liked the witty exchange between characters. I preferred the first book but would love to see Jane back in action at the hospital!

make up your mind!

main character drove me nuts! couldn't stand up for herself, didn't no how to stand up to her husband and constantly was flattering between old good looking surgeon boyfriend and stupid lazy hubby. I am surprised I finished it.

The humor of the main character

The main characters humor was so deadpan and Seinfeld… she wasn’t afraid to laugh at herself. I was unsure most of the story how things would end. The author has a prequel to this book - she published second and I’m downloading it as I type❤️- the medical info was well researched. I know I googled it😀❤️.

Enjoyable Listen!

I really liked both this sequel and the original title in this series! I liked the narration, the plot had just enough heft to hold my interest, the characters were decently developed, and most importantly, it was not too sappy. Overall, the plot was as expected, but there were minor twists/surprises that kept it engaging.

Great fun!

Good sequel to the first book and great narration, just a lot of fun, snide humor and good ending. Loved it!
