Publisher's summary

A fake engagement, second chances, and newfound family members come together in this new romance from the New York Times bestselling author of the “swoon-worthy” (Business Insider) The Spanish Love Deception.

Josie Moore has given the opposite sex—and love—plenty of chances. Four exactly, if you count all her failed engagements, and five if you include her no-longer-absentee father. Nonetheless, when the influential man decides to announce his retirement with a splashy magazine piece and Josie learns that her romantic history isn’t great PR for the family, she jumps at the chance to offer a solution.

Matthew Flanagan is in the mud. Literally. Not only has he been fired from his job, but after taking a wrong turn on his way to Green Oak, North Carolina, his car is stuck. So, he grabs a duffel bag with his essentials and goes in search of a place to crash until he gets his life (and vehicle) back on track. But instead, he stumbles upon his best friend’s sister, Josie, greeting him as her fiancé.

What starts as a big misunderstanding quickly turns into a fake engagement, with Matthew playing the role of the doting fiancé as he and Josie are swept into a PR whirlwind. The ring on Josie’s finger makes her stomach turn, but she knows this is only temporary. They have rules in place, and one of them is that no matter what, there will be no exchange of “I dos.” But that’s easier said than done, as lines soon start to blur, and the rest of the small town comes to believe the fifth fiancé is truly The One.

Editorial Review

Favorite summertime listen
As a longtime Elena Armas fan, I have been waiting for The Fiancé Dilemma since I finished listening to the beautiful HEA from The Long Game and found out there was more coming in the series. The story, which can be listened to as a standalone, follows Josie, who after four engagements has sworn off men, and Matthew, who is having one hell of a bad day. When a mix-up leaves the two announcing their fake engagement, both play along—agreeing that no matter what, they won’t end up married. As their chemistry becomes more undeniable, and the lines begin to blur, both Josie and Matthew find that the promise won’t be so easy to keep. From the cameos from my Long Game favorites to the alluring performances by beloved narrators Brittany Pressley and Zachary Webber, I adored everything about this story and will be recommending it for the entire summer, and beyond. — Patty R., Audible Editor

Bummed

Preordered this book and was especially excited bc Zachary Webber was listed as a narrator. Sadly, he isn’t. I probably wouldn’t have ordered otherwise….Would have waited for reviews first. Also, the sections of chapters dedicated to the podcast are strange and unnecessary. It was very confusing to listen in the middle of a chapter like it was a script read emphasizing ‘pause’ etc. I’m not finished yet, but finding it difficult to keep listening.

Misleading Narration

Extremely disappointed with the misleading of the narration.
I literally purchase books because of Zacharys delicious voice. This book should have been properly labeled as such. IE: "guest appearance from"
With that being said I did listen to the whole book. It took me a while to get used to the female narrators voice (Im a picky SOB when it comes to who I can stand to listen to for hours on end) and it was a cute story.
SAVE YOUR CREDIT, to use on a dual narrated book.

Zachary Webber

Like a previous review, having Zachary Webber listed as a narrator is misleading. He is only speaking in the last chapter. As a huge audiobook fan and specifically a diehard Zachary Webber/Jacob Morgan fan, I’m sad that I couldn’t get more of his voice. That being said, I love Elena Armas’ books and enjoyed this story quite a bit.

Extremely good

I loved this book. Female character was so sweet and impulsive and is getting herself into trouble. As the story is told by the female character you feel how sweet and cute and supportive male character is and all the doubts she has and anticipation is so good.

story is cute but could not handle the female narrator

I like dual narration so when I saw it had Zachary Webber I was excited. However, spoiler: he only reads the last chapter. Story is adorable. I love the authors writing and have read of her other books. But the female narrator has an accent…only sometimes and her “nervous/awkward” rambling was painful for me to listen to.

False advertising

Zachary Webber narrated one chapter. He is amazing and one of the reasons I select audiobooks. Was really disappointed that was not identified in the description.

SO GOOD! SMOKING HOT chemistry!

This is probably the best book I have listened to so far this year.

The chemistry between the 2 main characters was so off the charts and smoking hot. It took a while to get to the spice, but the build up was scorching. The story was excellent and hilarious and the narration was stellar. I am not familiar with the female narrator but she did a fantastic job. Zach Webber/Jacob Morgan only does the last chapter but I promise the female narrator is really great.

Definitely worth a credit.

Narration

This book should say “with a special appearance by Zachary Webber”. He only reads the last chapter. After the first 10 chapters and no Zachary Webber narration I checked the other chapters for his voice and had no luck until the last chapter. If I had known this before I would not have wasted a credit!

Painfully stupid

I didn’t make it through the fourth chapter. Writing and storyline is sophomoric at best and narrator’s voice is unlistenable.
