About this listen

From the author of the Amazon number-one best-selling novel The Air He Breathes comes the next book in the Elements series.

Complete standalone!

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone and I were complete opposites. I danced, and he stood still. He was quiet while I ran my mouth. He struggled to find a smile, and I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn't look away.

We were broken together yet somehow whole. We were wrong together but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision - a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

Wow

Another amazing book from Brittainy C Cherry. Another emotional rollercoaster. Being able to connect with the book. Having had a Logan of my own. I fell in love with Lo & High. It was easy to connect with them. Feel for them. I have learned if I want/need to feel, read any of this authors books.

I was expecting a continuation of the first book

when you say book to I'm expecting a continuation on the first book or maybe spin-off from characters from the first book so for me that was very disappointing. the story itself was kind of cute little sad but like always there's a happy ending.

Woof

Damn, this was not great. My second time through this and I don’t know what I was thinking when I raved about it the first time.

I love Emily Woo Zeller! She’s one of my favorite narrators and she’s so talented, but her narration in this book was absolute cringe. So over the top and didn’t match the tone of the book at all. It made it such a chore to get through the book that I couldn’t even take the last hour. It made a lot of the writing in the book feel corny. And some was just corny all in it’s own. Graham was much better.

I don’t really love the MCs. I liked them in part one, but not so much in part two. I lost respect for Alyssa with the voicemails. And then when she just let Logan treat her any old way. I get supporting your loved ones, but damn.

I did like Kellan and Erica. I’d rather listen to their story.

All in all, I love the story, but it’s not Brittainy’s best writing and not Emily’s best narration. I’m not sure I can recommend this one on Audible, but it’s probably much more enjoyable in print.

Touching

I was not a big fan of the first book in this series but this one was much improved.
Cherry Brittany is such a gifted writer. Her words and phrasing are beautiful. This book was sad yet touching. I am so glad that they all had their happy ending

Heartbreaking story of addiction

I liked this story - but after reading the first book this one was only ok for me. High and Lo we’re destined to be together, if only Logan could love himself. They never stopped loving each other through all the sadness that was thrown their way. Emily Woo Zeller was a little too dramatic for me in her narration and wasn’t my favorite and Graham Halstead did an OK job.

What a fire listen

It was of weakness and despair. How real life issues makes one fall and never get up. The struggle of surviving even the darkest of demons. How the bonds of loved ones can infuse in ones soul to preserve.
I cried a lot with this listen and it was worth every tear. Great story, and great narrators.

As good as the first one

I really enjoyed High's dedication and Lo's depth. Their intense relationship was moving. I also liked the word play throughout the story.

Not my favorite...

This story could definitely stand alone so don't think you have to read the first book to follow this one. None of the characters from the first cross over into this story. There are some steamy parts but her books have a sad element that I'm not sure I'm fond of. It kind of takes over and it's a sad story more than a romance. Toward the end it was even a little annoying how many times they said "hi and lo"
