About this listen

For nearly two decades, Lana Stenner and her family have been living their version of the simple life on their small Midwest farmstead—following God, chasing goats, and tending gardens. Join Lana as she shares heartwarming stories, hearty recipes, and some of the valuable lessons she’s learned in her homesteading journey, including the following:

-Chase your dreams over, under, or through that fence. Persevere.

-Intentional living brings joy. Laser focus on what’s important.

-Hard work is holy work. No job is beneath you.

Though you may not be ready to pack up and move into a 120-year-old farmhouse like Lana, you can experience more grace and authenticity right where you are when you learn to seek beauty in your surroundings, cultivate bonds with those you love, and work hand in hand with God.

This was a nice wholesome book. It tugged at my heart strings made me laugh and overall made me feel good listening to it. 100% recommend for just a joyful heart book

Refreshing light read

I was thoroughly enjoying this book until I heard her promote yoga as a Christian. It’s abundantly clear that yoga should have no place in a Christian’s life if you just take some time to research it’s roots. Then I remembered there was a time that I didn’t know yoga was demonic (I was even a yoga teacher!), so I was able to look past it and continue to listen and enjoy the book. Praying she sees the light like I did in regards to yoga, she seems like she loves God. :) I do wish I purchased a hard copy instead of audio though because of the recipes and what not at the end of each chapter.

Besides the yoga part, I liked it.

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook version of this book. However, I now have to go buy the physical book, as I want to be able to refer back to some of the suggestions with highlighter in hand.

Oh, this needs to be in my library permanently

Grounding and beautiful story. Easy listen and emphasis the importance of both the earth and Divine.

So refreshing!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the author's take on her homestead. The metaphors of things we see around the homestead, and how they compare to the "real world" was good reflection for myself. Also thankful for the recipes and tidbits throughout the story.

A sweet reflection on God's grace on the homestead
