If you get hangrier than usual, hate lots of change and get exhausted at the thought of any place filled with people, this book is quite comforting in lettibg know that you probably just have the super power of high physical and emotional sensing ability, and that like a finely tuned measuring apparatus, you can be overwhelmed by too much information.

Yer a Finely tuned sensing instrument Harry

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

There's good content here, the challenge is that to my ear, the narrator's voice is overly "sweet" if that makes any kind of sense. I won't buy another book narrated by Barbara Caruso.

Overall pretty good

I wish they would have updated this book. This subject is so interesting and important but also hard to find. It is still a good read but you have to keep in mind that is not up to date with research etc. Performance was not the best it was gard to keep up, the narration is too mellow, slow and low.

Great subject but very outdated

I like the intention of this book but it lacked more intellectual depth. Utilizing surveys are cool but the book didn't seem scientific enough. It felt to broad. The message was nice.

Would you listen to The Highly Sensitive Person again? Why?

Yes. In fact, I have already listened to it twice! I learned SO MUCH about myself from this book. So many of those moments where, "I thought I was the only one!" or "So THAT's why!" I am even recommending people to listen to it rather than read it (although I would like to read it too), since the narrator's voice is so soothing and motherly. It really helps calm someone while learning about such a potentially difficult topic.

What did you like best about this story?

It was great to finally hear that I am okay the way I am! I liked learning about how HSP's have more sensitive nervous systems as well. I always felt so lame because I got disturbed so easily, and now I can simply accept my body the way that it reacts. I liked that this book dealt with both body and mind. This book really opened me up to accepting myself the way I am instead of feeling like I am inferior to others because I get overwhelmed so easily.

What does Barbara Caruso bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Barbara Caruso reads slowly and clearly so that you can fully experience the writing.

Helped me to accept the way I am
