Story
If there’s one thing a century or more of sleep science has established, it’s that sleep deserves to be a priority. It's not. We hear much about the importance of exercise to our long-term well-being, and how diet and health are inextricably linked. Sleep, however, is typically an afterthought. Whether you’re desperately seeking a solution to your sleep woes or are simply curious if there’s more that you can do to improve your sleep and, ultimately, your health, this book has the answers you seek.

Needed This!
I've been using these techniques for a while now. As we get older, it can be harder to sleep or to stay asleep. Relaxation and preparation for going to sleep is important - something I learned here and it has made such a difference! Most of us watch tv until bed, not understanding that there should be a period of relaxation time before hand. Tracking sleep patterns has also been helpful to analyze if there is something disturbing my sleep that I can work on. Highly recommend if you need help getting better sleep!

I was beginning to think it was hopeless, until...
I have seriously tried everything from white noise apps, TV, soothing music, even sleep aids, The quiet seems to be the perfect time for my mind to race! After learning more about insomnia, its root causes, and its common symptoms, I realized I was not alone. Then, I started practicing and using the strategies introduced in this book, and after a week, I started sleeping through the night. I still struggle, but if I remember quickly to try the techniques taught, I can get back to sleep before my mind wakes up! If you struggle like I do, give this book some serious consideration. Highly recommended.

Get Your Zzz's In
“The Insomnia Breakthrough” is a good read if you suffer from insomnia or have trouble sleeping only occasionally. The usual suspects for keeping one awake at night, like drinking coffee, tea, or energy drinks late in the day, are mentioned, but the book also hits on the stress factor and perseverating on problems from work. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that calcium, magnesium, and tryptophan can support a good night's sleep. So, while there are strategies and ideas that we have heard about before, you can find new and helpful information in the book. I recommend it.
