About this listen

In 2032, there are more than five hundred billionaires worldwide. In 2033, there are none.

As a teenager, Quinn Starkweather builds a computer program that accurately predicts world events. He has created a Nostradamus machine.

While Quinn becomes very wealthy, the program predicts the world will be torn apart by financial inequity. The 99.9% will rise up against the billionaires in what is dubbed The Rage Wars.

The world stands on the razor’s edge of disaster. With enough warning of the coming apocalypse, Quinn builds an ark in the desert—a self-sufficient domed city he calls Altor.

The Fifteen, a powerful band of anarchists, revel in the world burning. They are intent on not just sabotaging Altor but destroying everything.

Can Quinn finish Altor before the Fifteen destroy not just it but the entire world?

I've never written a review before, but I've listened to hundreds of books. This author truly crafts amazing stories. This particular book is a fantastic listen, and I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment.

Inmon gives us a refreshing take on the subgenre of apocalyptic fiction. As usual, his characters are strong, developed, and interesting. Unlike Middle Falls, the setting for Altor is pure science fiction and deserves attention as many of the utopian themes center on the abilities of an AI that may be prescient of our near future.

This story is a far distant place from Middle Falls though it does have easter eggs in it. Shawn is a master of character building as his other series have taught us. This post apoc genre seems like a challenge but he nails it with the same formula. The premise is a stretch to believe in but every character and story line is so perfect, deep and interesting in their realistic personality that you wont stop turning pages. Shawn is just immersive to read in everything he writes because you can envision every person. Really solid book and buying book 2 now.

Shawn is such a talent.

I have been a huge fan of the middle Falls series for sometime, but this was my first experience with another of his worlds. Absolutely wonderful read, great world building, characters, you care about, and a story that leaves you wanting more. Can’t wait to continue the series!

Another fantastic world!

Some minor similarities to Fallout if you enjoyed that series. Really well written, great pace, lots of different character POVs which can be confusing at first especially on audio but you quickly figure out who the big players are and start recognizing names when they appear again. Not quite a 5star, it’s not that I didn’t really enjoy this book, I absolutely did and devoured it! I just didn’t feel the spectrum of emotions that I believe only 5 stars deserve.

Fallout vibes

One of Shawn Inmon's best books. ...and there's even an orange-robed monk. Can't wait for book #2...

Awesome!

Author's insight to those who subscribe to collectivism is perfect. The descriptions of these characters' lust for power and inevitable decent into soulless evil is perfectly rendered.
Would have loved more character development of the kid, the friend and the AI, more small stories.
Great so far, already downloaded the second book.

Surprised
