Story
After an accident, Laran wakes up in a strange fantasy world governed by a System, with his only knowledge coming from his fiery tutorial assistant, Toot, a faerie who is more snarky than helpful. Even worse, the Undying Empire is hunting him for reasons he doesn’t understand. That means hordes of undead soldiers, dark assassins lurking in every shadow, and worse. The good news is that apparently he is considered a Glory Seeker here, meaning he's able augment almost anything he does by using points of Glory, a resource earned through actions in the world—heroic or villainous.

An AI overseer and a human crew arrive on a distant planet to salvage an ancient UN starship. The overseer is unhappy. The crew, well, they're certainly no A-team. Not even a C-team on the best of days. And worse? Urmahon Beta, the planet, is at the ass-end of nowhere. Everybody expects this to be a long, ugly, and thankless job. Publisher's summary
Reborn... Given a second chance in a world where magic reigns... Can he save his soul?
Hunter was just a normal average guy. Then he died. That's when the problems started. For one, he wasn't heading for heaven. He was on a one-way trip to the other place.
Secondly, an angel literally pulled him from the brink of Hell and gave him a choice: Go straight to Hell, don't pass go, don't collect $200. Or, be put inside the body of an alternate version of himself on a completely different Earth where magic, not technology, rules, and get a chance to redeem his soul.
The catch? (Isn't there always a catch?)
To earn a place in the afterlife, Hunter must stop an immortal creature called the Nightlord before it can destroy the Free Lands. Did the angel mention that it can't be hurt with normal weapons or magic.
Piece of cake, right?
Don't miss the next action-packed LitRPG adventure from John Cressman, author of The Abduction Cycles!

Story
On his nineteenth birthday, Leland Silver was offered a portion of a Lord's power. The only issue… it was from a Lord no one had ever heard of—the Lord of Curses. Teamed with his two best friends—a Legacy of the Berserker and a Legacy of the Chameleon—Leland must learn quickly if he wishes to get anywhere in this newly opened world. Beginner LitRPG Short Story
This book would have been much better if it didn't end right at the beginning of the story.
what I mean is that excluding the last 2 hours this entire book is one big intro scene. The story is super linear with the MC having arrived to the world basically 5 minutes before the entire country lost to the big bad. Good book for kids... except for the overt attempt to force some semblance of a love triangle/sex thing -esque something...

Great story, not the best narration.
It's most likely just me, but I really didn't like the way the narrator used a whiney singsong voice when the characters spoke with each other.
The story was great though.

The mc comes off as an idiot. Which makes this a difficult listen. Instead of accepting the situation as is especially when he was told by the angel that he would not hear from her again, yet he continues to try and get her to respond… ugh! I’m gonna try to finish
