The narrator really brought this story together. With the different character voices. Really enjoyed this book looking forward to the next one

Wow! Amazing! I was purdy sure this would be fun 🙃 'cause it was a litRPG one of my favorite genre's. And when it comes to narrators Peter Berkrot is always a good choice, as he always gives a 100% in his vocally prefected performance.
This is Will's, Will of Blackbriar's story. He knows that inorder to get stronger he has'ta fight the Goblin horde on the front line's and after being accepted by the 3rd Auxiliary he went to town, leveling as fast as he could... and following the quest line. Turns out that Will is a gifted fighter leveling even faster than veteran's that have been at it for years! He also has the ears of both Hadrian Blackthorne and Count Basset Heir Dacon. And unfortunately he's garnered the interest of the inquisition.
So yeah grab the audiobook and enjoy this rip-roaring litRPG.

Wow! Soooooooo amazing! Just friggintastic!

the opening of this book was a little rough for me, but as time progressed it just keep getting better and better. I hope the writer keeps it up and gives us more.

rough start but great finish

This story kept my attention. It makes me think of a gritty and dark version of something written by James Haddock, whose books I tend to enjoy. Definitely much rougher and bloodier than Haddock, but I like that sometimes, too.

The setup is there for sequels, though, none are listed on audible at the time of this writing, but it's published by Aethon, so, a series is almost guaranteed. All that to say, I'll be keeping an eye out for more books in a series.

Enjoyable story. Gritty, dark.

They did a great job on this one. The story itself was simply not my cup of tea. I would recommend it.

Enjoyed it a lot, but at times I was left needing some focus on the who, what, why of the world, the characters history, and his motivation. Battles and action sequences were great. Narration was top tier.
Hopefully next book can address some questions other than just battle after battle? I agree with some of the other reviews that the plot is a little shallow, but I will get the next book.
Overall 4.5/5, a high review I know based on what I said, but I really enjoy it.

Very well done but lacked context

Great book, great story, great narration. Loved it. Looking forward to the second one and seeing where this series goes.

Great

I honestly didn't know what to expect when picking this up - most LitRPG these days feel like a crapshoot, but this one turned out to be surprisingly great.

I loved Will as a character. Though I personally prefer my MCs to be a bit more psycopathic and badass, the fact that the author wrote one that was more grounded and 'everyman,' while also still making him a badass deserves huge props.

I think my only issues are that the LitRPG elements felt really tacked on and meaningless (what does 8% extra damage even mean?!), and that the worldbuilding fell a little flat.

Can't wait to see where the next one goes.

Surprisingly great

Great story. The intrigue and battles lost me a bit as i kept asking wait … why is this happening, but if you don’t over think it you’ll see “from the corner of your eye”, a great story!

Fun fight of fury

Truly amazing, gripping story, captivating world. The author did an amazing job, and it was brought to life by the narrator fantastically. I will be waiting for the next instalments.
