About this listen

The Unhoneymooners meets The Hating Game in this breezy debut romantic comedy about life - and love - 30,000 feet above the ground.

After 10 years as a flight attendant, Ava Greene is poised to hang up her wings and finally put down roots. She's got one trip left before she bids her old life farewell, and she plans to enjoy every second of it. But then, she discovers that former pilot Jack Stone - the absurdly gorgeous, ridiculously cocky man she's held a secret grudge against for year - is on her flight. And he has the nerve to flirt with her, as if he doesn't remember the role he played in the most humiliating night of her life. Good thing she never has to see him again after they land....

But when their plane encounters mechanical problems, what should have been a quick stop at the Belize airport suddenly becomes a weekend layover. Getting stuck on a three-hour flight with her nemesis was bad enough. Being stranded with him at a luxury resort in paradise? Even with the sultry breeze and white sand to distract her, it will take all the rum punch in the country to drown out his larger-than-life presence.

Yet the more time Ava spends with him under the hot Caribbean sun, the more she begins to second-guess everything she thought she knew about him...and everything she thought she wanted from her life. And all too soon, she might have to choose between keeping her feet on the ground and her head in the clouds....

cute story but could have been a little shorter

this was a cute clean romantic comedy about two flight attendants male and female that thought that they just liked each other but they really just didn't come to know each other until they had a layover in Belize longer than expected due to plane troubles. the love hate relationship worked itself out as they were totally themselves and started to look at each other in a different way. this book I gave this book four stars because I felt intended to be a little drawn out but overall it was a cute clean story

Along for the vacation

The ability to make you feel you were on the adventure with “the crew” was wonderful.

Romanticly Sweet

A super cute and funny rom-com that had me giggling and a bit teary at times. A perfect debut novel by flight attendant and now published author Lacie Waldon. Such amazing and likable characters. Two I disliked was the captain of the flight. Who was beyond stiff and boring haha, but he made up for it in the car ride at the end. The other one I didn't like was definitely Alexander. The hell I would let him make all kinds of decisions and not listen to me. I would never be in a relationship like that. Over all a beautiful love story and I loved the banter between our two protagonists. Congratulations Lacie! I can't wait to read what you write next

very cute story!

initially I was irritated with the main character for how mean-spirited she was towards her coworker, Jack, but after the hotel room confession it made more sense.
after that the story becomes a good slow burn and is filled with substance instead of overly descriptive sexual situations. all the characters are likeable, except the fiance and the narration is spot on.
definitely worth the credit!

A great read!

I adored this book and would highly recommend it. I would give it a PG-13 rating for sex and language. It was definitely worth it to listen through the author's acknowledgements because they were very charming.

Beautiful and amusing 😍

This being a rando book i got during a sale I'm very happy to say how much i enjoyed it. The story was full, entertaining and had great pacing. The characters were all super lovable and made you really root for them. Ava the MC was so goofy and flawed in that throughout the book she was still in the process of admitting shes been trying to hide her true self and recognize the person she truely wants to be so theres alot of inner dialog about her struggles and denial of her desires that were done in a very amusing way. Alot of great alliteration and comparisons that were quite funny and cute. Author has a great way of painting beautiful imagery with her words. Loved this book. Romances are usually hit or miss for me and this one hit.

Great story!

It started off a little slow but got good really fast. Performance was great except for there was a few moments where she made the MC sound like a whiney teenager versus a grown woman. That is the only thing I didn't like about this book.

Delightfully Perfect Rom Com

The story and the narrator were great and I loved the overall message. Each character, even the side characters had unexpected depth and were treated with empathy. No one was a total villain or overly annoying. To anyone who ever felt they had to change and sacrifice themselves in order to live up to a partner’s expectations, this book will remind you otherwise. It will make you laugh and cry (if you’re a softy like me). In the end, you will finish the book wishing you could spend more time with the characters.
