About this listen

Once upon a time, waiting for the mail was filled with warm anticipation. But the suicide of the local mailman has left the residents of this tiny Arizona town shell-shocked. Nothing this bad has ever happened here. And now, there's a new mail carrier in town, one who's delivering lethal letters stuffed with icy fear. Nothing - not even the most outstanding citizens or the most secret weaknesses - is safe from the sinister power of this malicious mailman....

Good but not great

Overall this book was good, it’s worth listening to however there were a lot of slow parts. A large portion of the middle of the book really just dragged. The premise of the book is very interesting, but I think there could’ve been more interactions made between the characters during the middle of the book to keep you on edge. It was worth listening to if not just to have something to listen to while working.

Eldritch non-Euclidean mailman

The postal service has it’s own law enforcement arm and would never have allowed any of this

Okay book.

Interesting book. It's kinda seems childish but then not. The story is good and kept my interest but the storyline was different. Not bad, just different. Ended good. It was just a strange storyline. But it's worth listening to.

He leaves his political views out of his writing. Other authors (king) should take note and follow suit.

Bentley little is great. I love the fact that I have no idea what his political views are from reading his books. Stephen king take note. You can definitely learn something about professionalism form Mr little!

I would like to cancel my mail

It took me a while to get into the book. I went back and forth trying to figure out if I should take the book seriously. Wasn’t sure if this was somehow an analogy for some much larger issue, but in the end I think it is simply about a demon mailman. Once I decided to just accept that there is a demon mailman and he has supernatural abilities I was ok with the story. Now it does go from slightly silly and childish happenings to where did that graphic brutal attack come from. In the end I just kept thinking if the book had Steven King’s name on the cover nobody would question any of it so I just tried to enjoy the ride.
This book is quite long and there are some side stories that don’t seem to benefit the overall story. There are some basic character development in the beginning that doesn’t really go anywhere and isn’t really needed for the overall plotline. It starts out with a clear direction but then starts to drag a bit and I started to yell at the characters for being dumb. The ending is fairly predictable but goes off into some directions I wasn’t really expecting and seemed to contradict itself a bit. All in all I didn’t hate the story but I can see why a lot of people would. I couldn't help but think about Kramer from Seinfeld trying to stop the mail the entire time.
The narrator was really good. His voice is very familiar sounding and I kept trying to see where I had heard him before, turns out I haven’t. Either way I enjoyed listening to him tell the story and he surely helped make it go by.
