Publisher's summary

Romance is weakness, and Jasmine Allen doesn’t have time for either. Lifelong cynic Jas is the queen of one-night things—until a plumbing disaster screws everything up and leaves her temporarily homeless. Luckily, she has someone to turn to: her best friend Rahul.

For seven years, Rahul Khan has followed three simple rules.

-Don’t touch Jasmine if you can help it.

-Don’t look at her arse in that skirt.

-And don’t ever—ever—tell her you love her.

He should’ve added another rule: Do not, under any circumstances, let Jas move into your house.

Now Rahul is living with the friend he can’t have, and it’s decimating his control. He knows their shared dinners aren’t dates, their late-night kisses are a mistake, and the tenderness in Jasmine’s gaze is only temporary. One wrong word could send his skittish best friend running. So why is he tempted to risk it all?

I love this book!

I’m new to reading romance, and it feels like taking off fetters after almost half a decade of nothing but literary prose and poetry. And Talia Hibbert offers me the best of all worlds — elegant phrasing and metaphors I can’t help but admire, even as I look forward to inevitable happiness.

I’m getting to be a huge fan. I’ve read all three books in the Brown Sisters series (they are great!) and now I’m 2/3 of the way through Midnight Heat. And The Roommate Risk is my very favorite of all. I just can’t believe everything I received from it. I was lost in these characters. Their contours seemed more defined, more real, to me than the autumn-orange leaves and blue sky I was walking under while listening to them speak their innermost thoughts in my ear (the woman narrator of the audiobook is especially good).

And I learned so much from them—both about myself and about the people I love. I won’t deny that I’m starting to love this particular genre. But, as written by Talia Hibbert, I might also want to simply call it . . . literature. Carefully crafted, eye-opening, heart-opening, endlessly beautiful literature.

everything

I could swear this author wrote a book called Wanna Bet and this story sounds very familiar to that book.

Another beautiful story

I love Talia's books and this one did not disappoint. So many times I get in my head and it's nice not being alone.

I'll be back for more.

grown up story

I loved this story so much because it was REAL.. it felt like real people with real problems. it wasn't too sweet and it bordered on the perfect amount of angst. The voice actors was very good but the voice of Jasmine was perfect seduction at every turn.

Read this one yourself if you can

I enjoyed the story itself, but the people reading for the MCs are ... not sexy 💀 at all. Jasmine is not even 30 yet and she sounds at least 50 and Rauhl accent is significantly different between both narrators it's weird. Also his lady voice is so bad it's cringey especially during the spicy scenes.

F@%king BRILLIANT!!!!

You have done it again!!! GREAT LISTEN!!! The story was simple yet emotionally complex. I love how she thoroughly describes situations, breaks down the characters thoughts. The narrators were WONDERFUL!!! Love love love!

Meh

I normally really enjoy this author's books, however this was just disappointing. And having sex scenes read by someone that sounds like my mother gets a big two thumbs down.

I'm Struggling

okay I usually love this author's books buy them without reading a title the reviews none of that because her books are so good but this one I've been listening to this book now for about 3 months I don't like it it's that bad I don't know if it's the author trying to give us something different or maybe it's the narrator the female narrator the guy narrator reads nice but the female I struggle when it comes to her part it's bad it's really bad basically the story it drags on it flips and flops between different times you're going from the past to the present present present past and I'm like it just don't work for me I know I don't have any punctuations whatsoever and this review I apologize but this book it ain't it I'm struggling hard I don't like the female character she sounds like she's a snotty child she just seems like she's a snob her dad was more entertaining and he had a small part I'm not going to lie the steps that was in the book had more personality than the female character the female character is just an awful person I get a lot of people don't do relationships nowadays I understand but the female character just came off as a child to me snotty bratty the male lead he's forgettable when I sit back and I think about it he's none of the other characters that I've read about he doesn't seem like he makes sense I'm just saying overall the whole book is bad I don't like it I'm sorry I love the author's work but this book I wish I can get my credit and or money back because I can't remember what I used to buy this book
