About this listen

Romance is weakness, and Jasmine Allen doesn’t have time for either. Lifelong cynic Jas is the queen of one-night things—until a plumbing disaster screws everything up and leaves her temporarily homeless. Luckily, she has someone to turn to: her best friend Rahul.

For seven years, Rahul Khan has followed three simple rules.

-Don’t touch Jasmine if you can help it.

-Don’t look at her arse in that skirt.

-And don’t ever—ever—tell her you love her.

He should’ve added another rule: Do not, under any circumstances, let Jas move into your house.

Now Rahul is living with the friend he can’t have, and it’s decimating his control. He knows their shared dinners aren’t dates, their late-night kisses are a mistake, and the tenderness in Jasmine’s gaze is only temporary. One wrong word could send his skittish best friend running. So why is he tempted to risk it all?

He is amazing and I want him and I wish I had an amazing man like him in my life. Jaz is a mess but perfect for him, at first I didn’t like her because I am very big on commitment and I don’t like friends with benefits, but she came around.

I love rahoullll!!!!!

I love Talia's books and this one did not disappoint. So many times I get in my head and it's nice not being alone.

I'll be back for more.

Another beautiful story

I’m new to reading romance, and it feels like taking off fetters after almost half a decade of nothing but literary prose and poetry. And Talia Hibbert offers me the best of all worlds — elegant phrasing and metaphors I can’t help but admire, even as I look forward to inevitable happiness.

I’m getting to be a huge fan. I’ve read all three books in the Brown Sisters series (they are great!) and now I’m 2/3 of the way through Midnight Heat. And The Roommate Risk is my very favorite of all. I just can’t believe everything I received from it. I was lost in these characters. Their contours seemed more defined, more real, to me than the autumn-orange leaves and blue sky I was walking under while listening to them speak their innermost thoughts in my ear (the woman narrator of the audiobook is especially good).

And I learned so much from them—both about myself and about the people I love. I won’t deny that I’m starting to love this particular genre. But, as written by Talia Hibbert, I might also want to simply call it . . . literature. Carefully crafted, eye-opening, heart-opening, endlessly beautiful literature.

I love this book!

I’ve never been disappointed by a book from Talia!

The steamy friends to lovers romance had me encapsulated from minute one! It was painful to have to listen to how traumatized Jazmyn was by the rejection she felt from her mother’s absence, But in the end she worked on herself and that’s all that matters. And who doesn’t love spicy sex scenes!

More please!!

I could swear this author wrote a book called Wanna Bet and this story sounds very familiar to that book.

I hated Jasmine most of the book. I kept listening to it because I believed she would change. It all ended happy but I was so mad when she broke Raul’s heart. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the book instead of listening to it on audible. The woman narrator didn’t sound like the character to me but I’m American. I don’t know many different English accents. Worth the read if you like heavy pining.

The ending saved it for me

This book is intensely vivid, listener beware. Great characters, great storyline, will definitely look for more from this author.

Steamy!

I actually like this author, but the narrators were quite possibly the worst I've ever listened to. the fake falsetto the make narrator used and the very forced performative time both of the narrators took completely took away from the enjoyment.

the storyline was fine. Predictable and tropey which I have no problem with. The sex scenes were a little cringe and some of the dialogue felt weird but in general it's a romance novel and it does the job

Meh story, terrible narrators

You have done it again!!! GREAT LISTEN!!! The story was simple yet emotionally complex. I love how she thoroughly describes situations, breaks down the characters thoughts. The narrators were WONDERFUL!!! Love love love!

F@%king BRILLIANT!!!!

I normally really enjoy this author's books, however this was just disappointing. And having sex scenes read by someone that sounds like my mother gets a big two thumbs down.

Meh
