About this listen
Congratulations! You've won a role on Let's Switch Houses! Your life is going to change. We promise. Your dreams will come true. Everything you've ever wanted, we have it. This is a chance of a lifetime. Come inside. Switch with us.
Angela and Terry return home after several grueling months of filming the popular television show, Let's Switch Houses!, only to find their residence in ruin. Sure, the décor and framed photographs are the same; the color of the walls hasn't changed; the furniture sits unmoved. But something is off. Their quiet New Jersey home feels tainted. Angela can sense it. Crawling inside her. Infecting her mind. Poisoning her thoughts.
Then the nightmares begin. Awful, lucid visions that cause her to question her own reality. What happened at 44 Trenton Road while she was gone? Just what did she do - that bizarre woman who claims she can communicate with the beyond? Who is she exactly? Angela aims to find out, but the further she investigates, the deeper into madness she descends. How far will she travel before she loses the trail of clues? Or worse - before she loses her mind.
The Switch House is a short novel for fans of supernatural thrillers with a dark twist. Includes three bonus short stories.

Story
Greed, terrorism, and simple bad luck conspire to bring mankind to its knees as a viral infection spreads out of control, reducing those infected to undead horrors that feed upon the rest. It's a time of misery and death for most, however there are some who are lucky, some who are ruthless, and some who are just too damned tough to go down without a fight. This is their story.

Story
FBI analyst Kassidy Bishop is assigned to the "'For You' Killer" task force after a series of sadistic murders bearing the same signature arise in different parts of the country. The homicides are both calculated and savage, occurring in different states, but bearing the same signature: the words "for you" scribbled at each crime scene. The case chills Kassidy, bringing back memories of her own encounter with a violent criminal five years earlier.

The living dead are more alive than ever! Zombies have become more than an iconic monster for the 21st century: They are now a phenomenon constantly revealing as much about ourselves - and our fascination with death, resurrection, and survival - as our love for the supernatural or post-apocalyptic speculation. Our most imaginative literary minds have been devoured by these incredible creatures and produced exciting, insightful, and unflinching new works of zombie fiction.

Genre-Twisting Horror
8.0/10
Thanks to the author for a listening copy of The Switch House for review consideration. This did not influence my thoughts or opinions.
The Switch House is a mind-bending, psychological thrill-ride that is Trading Spaces meets Silent Hill. The pacing alone is enough to have you speed-reading this short novel in a lunch hour or two, but trying to figure out where Tim is ultimately taking you is the icing on the cake that allows the pages of this novel to fly by.
It is a solid haunted house story, but it is oh so much more than that. Nightmares, the occult, murder, and a constant creeping up the back of your neck.
Meyer is always solid when it comes to a genre-twisting read with a fantastic plot and great characters.

Not your typical Ghost Story
There's something about the corners of this world we live in. It's those really dark spots that you can't make out. That's what puts everything into overdrive. Our heart starts to race, our mind spins with thoughts of mystery, our defense is on edge ready to meet whatever jumps from the dark. Switch House is full of mystery. What if you leave your home to come back to home you don't recognize anymore. What if you're dealing with something more then reality, but it's all made up as well. What if you're moving from day to day while dealing with haunting memories you've lied to yourself to believe aren't real anymore that that life doesn't exist anymore. Dive into this story and watch the unfolding happen, when you think you know you don't know. This story is full of atmosphere and dread. It'll leave you haunted and fulfilled.

Great listen!
I really enjoy this creepy read and thought the audiobook was very well done! The story was a blend of Tremblay's HEAD FULL OF GHOSTS meets the film DRAG ME TO HELL with a little bit of ROSEMARY'S BABY thrown in for good measure. I'll be checking out more from Tim Meyer!

Intense and uncomfortable, which in itself is a compliment
I did not expect to feel so tense listening to this story that I often avoided listening to it at all. As a parent myself, this dip into dark paths made me vocally address a fictional character with condemnation. With afterthought came empathy, and sadness for the state of their lives. In the end, the horror of choices made brought both a sense of otherworldly influence, paranoia of invisible manipulation and a need to go hug my children. That’s how you know a story was creepy, when you, as a grown man need to go reassure yourself that this slice of darkness hasn’t leaked off the page, or out of a speaker into the world around you.

The author and narrator deliver with this book.
4.5 This book is a trippy, fast paced ride that leads around by the neck, barely letting you take a gasp of air. I did this one on audible and the narrator was great. I also felt there may have been some influences from 80s horror movies sprinkled throughout. Overall a great read that I highly recommend.
