About this listen

Two best friends. Buried feelings. A secret holding them apart.

Two friends since university, each holding something back.

Tilly's been running from her secrets for far too long. Evie, carrying a buried flame for Tilly since they met, has always been there to welcome Tilly back with open arms. That is, after all, what one does for a friend.

When Evie unexpectedly falls pregnant, she's left with a lot of hard decisions to make. That includes choices about Tilly and the way she's been disappearing on her randomly for over a decade.

Tilly wants nothing more than to be there for Evie, who's been her anchor to return to time and time again. But what does supporting her look like when sticking around becomes an important part of that?

A romance about growing up - whatever that means - and realizing that even if it hurts, sometimes change is for the best.

Contains mature themes.

Started kind of slow. There were points where I just didn’t wanna continue reading it. But I’m not a quitter. I kept on and surprisingly I grew to enjoy the story a lot. It was worth reading. And it has a wonderful ending.

Started slowly but ended wonderfully

Benson’s books are clever, romantic and real. Great tension and resolve. I love this author.

Great story

I have purchased all this writers books and really enjoyed them. This one was a little rough for me. I feel that the writer tried to pack in so much LGBT stereotypes that I couldn’t quite figure out what was going on.

It’s okay

What a s#*t show. Hated every second and listened for a few hours. Totally not good. It was like a pamphlet about someone’s life. Seemed meaningless

Couldn’t finish or return it

Couldn’t get into this book story was nothing to write hoe about and I couldn’t get into more than chapter 7 and I tried frew times.
I think Cat Gould used her Australian accent a little too much, singing the book that had no melody.
Sorry I cna’t recommend

I listened to the audio version. It's hard to judge the writing that way, but I didn't hear any errors on behalf of the author or the narrator, so that's good. I love the narrator, Cat Gould. She does an excellent job. I liked the main characters and their chemistry, more emotional than physical. The book went on quite long, and the flashbacks got confusing. I couldn't really plot it all on a timeline. I guessed one of Tilly's secrets almost before the book had started, and the other was a surprise. It's a heartwarming story, overall, but the road to the happy ending was definitely long and a bit frustrating. Tilly's running off got old quickly. I did understand it at the end, but still... I really liked the parts about Evie's work. And I loved the connection between Tilly and the baby (bump), whatever it was really about. I would have liked more at the end and less in the middle of the story. It just kind of ends pretty quickly. I also would have liked more discussions on the page between Evie and Tilly, especially concerning the baby. Overall, this was an interesting story but somewhat predictable and really not as good as I had been hoping for.

Not as good as I had been hoping for
