About this listen

There are two dead bodies in Idaho, and the gun used to kill them has been traced back to a 16-year-old robbery in Misted Pines.

Sheriff Harry Moran has a broken heart and a stack of case files on his desk that the corrupt sheriff who came before him might have bungled.

Or he may have framed innocent people.

The first case Harry dives into, the woman left behind lives just a block away from his office.

When Lillian Rainier opens the door to the sheriff, Harry, who’s been a dead man walking since his wife died, comes back to life.

As for Lillian, she’s had a crush on Harry for forever, Harry showing at her door, and how he is when he does only makes her fall deeper.

As Harry and his team dive into these suspicious cases, Harry and Lillian have to figure out what to do with all they feel for each other, how hard it hits them, and how deep it goes.

But as a voice from the past becomes a witness in the present, and Harry and his crew dig deeper, they sense something sinister happened years ago.

As they weave together the threads of a cold case, they realize how messy it is.

Worse, the man behind the mess is desperately cleaning it up …

And no one in Misted Pines is safe.

The narrators brought this story to life perfectly.

I strongly recommend this audiobook to get the most out of these characters and their slow burn love story.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series and this one was no exception. Talk about two people who deserved love. Deserved happiness. A home. Each other. That would be Harry and Lillian.

This story is all about solving murders (yes more than one) while the Sheriff (that would be Harry Moran) falls for the “woman left behind “, Lillian Rainier, whose parents disappeared 16 years ago. There are many twists and turns to the investigation but the heart of this story is Harry and Lillian finding each other. It’s absolutely a gorgeous romance in

OK, not my favorite

K. A. Is fabulous at creating an in depth story with lots of moving parts. This makes her one of my favorite authors. This book was somewhat similar to “It’s Complicated “ but the characters not nearly as well defined. It’s Complicated is an all time favorite and hard to beat. Narrators were awesome.

Great Story- Terrible Female Narrator

I read or listen to ALL Kristen Ashley books and own the majority of them. I love this series. All that said, the female narrator really killed her part of this audiobook. It was just totally over the top to the point that I could not enjoy the chapters she read. I will have to finish this one in the free kindle version. Her ridiculously bad acting made it unbearable and I cannot finish it. I only have an hour to go but I can’t take her any longer. UGH! Give me Susanna Jones, Stella Bloom or better yet Abbey Craden but this one was a tragic miss for me. 😫😫

Favorite of the series so far!

Misted Pines is a series that just gets better with each book and The Woman Left Behind is my favorite one yet!

Harry has taken over as Sheriff and stuck going through old cases to see if details were missed. It lands him in the home of Lillian whose parents went missing many years ago. Looking to make a cold trail make sense they come across so many things and the story line was such a surprise. I was hooked from the start of this one!

Kristan Ashley never disappoints!

Kristen Ashley seriously never misses when it comes to creating unforgettable characters, and The Woman Left Behind is no different. I’m obsessed with this series. From the first page, I was hooked — the way she mixes strength, vulnerability, passion, and real heart is just unmatched. No one does it like Ashley. Forever my favorite author 💕

Big disappointment

Like KA books but this one I couldn't finish. The narrator for female sounds like an eight year old and acts like it as well in th way over dramatic and immature sequences. the male narrative is too overdone and overplayed. very disappointed unfortunately hopefully her next one will read like KA put some age appropriate dialog and reactions as well as better narrators. This seems like a tired effort.

Average at best

Nothing exciting about this one. It was boring and typical for a great portion of it
