About this listen

From Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestselling author Mike Omer comes the chilling conclusion to Zoe Bentley’s decades-long nightmare.

A murderer who drinks his victim’s blood? FBI profiler Zoe Bentley and Agent Tatum Gray thought they’d seen it all, but this young woman’s barbaric murder is especially hard to stomach.

They didn’t expect to work this case. But vampirism aside, the murderer’s MO is identical to that of Rod Glover - the serial killer who’s been pursuing Zoe since childhood. Forensics reveals the murder to be his work, but not his alone; desperate to fulfill his sick purpose, he has taken on an equally depraved partner.

Zoe’s own frustration grows after another woman turns up dead and drained - and another goes missing. Time is running out: Zoe knows her own death will be the climax of Glover’s sinister play, which has been unfolding for twenty years. To stop Glover and his vile partner, she’ll need to plunge deep into their motives; but this means drawing ever closer to becoming another casualty of a dark, dark thirst.

My least favorite out of the 3

This book was my least favorite out of the three in the series, but still a decent listen. If you've not started the series before this, read it from the beginning.
As an aside, the narrator does a decent job; however, the Boston accent sounds more like JFK, a droning New England monotone, not really Boston at all.
Each story is similar as far as the layout. They point out one or two obvious and very fitting characters that make you think that you know who the killer is the whole time (and they do it in a way that makes you think that you're smart if you pick up on those (not so) small clues), but pull something out of their hat at the very end to show that it's someone else that you weren't expecting. Although I usually appreciate when I can't guess the killer, I don't necessarily appreciate the sideshow nor force fitting clues. What the heck was that act at the end by Zoe? Didn't make much sense.
Anyway, you may enjoy it, so why not give it a try??

As always

Omer always keeps you on your toes! I’m hoping this isn’t the end of Zoe Bennet but if it is, I’m satisfied with the ending.

Good Story.

This was another good story in the Zoe Bentley series. I really liked it.

That ole Rod Glover always messing with Zoe. This was an entertaining book, kept you guessing throughout. Between Rod Glover and the nut job drinking blood it keeps you interest.

I like the main characters and am hopeful there will be more Zoe Bentley books to come. She makes a great lead character, and who doesn't love a profiler!

As for the narration it is very good. I really like Brittany Pressley. She does such a good job on the male voices. She has a nice reading voice too. Also, I love the accent she does for Zoe, well done.

Good listen

The book was perhaps not quite up to the previous installment, but it it’s twists and turns. Just a little slow developing. Overall a good listen and it wraps up the trilogy if that is what it turns out to be.

Another Zoe Bentley winner!

*Spoiler Alert* I loved this series. I suppose it's over now that the Glover's been caught. They did kind of leave a small window open, but not really much they can do with it. I loved the characters Zoe, Andrea, Tatum, etc. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars across was the awful Boston accent of Brittany Pressley. Please leave the accents to the professionals. Otherwise a top-rate job!
