About this listen

INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Kerri Maniscalco makes her adult debut with this New York Times bestselling sensation, a "hot" new standalone fantasy romance (Jennifer L. Armentrout) about a dark prince battling an impossible curse—and the artist who might be the only one who can set him free.

Sinner. Villain. Wicked.

The Prince of Envy has never claimed to be a saint. But when a cryptic note arrives, signaling the beginning of a deadly game, he knows it will take more than a hint of sin to win and save his falling demon court. Riddles, hexed objects, anonymous players, nothing will stand in his way, though none of his meticulous plans prepare him for her, the frustrating artist who ignites his sin like no other…

Virtuous. Darling. Liar.

The trouble with scoundrels and blackguards is that they haven’t a modicum of honor, a fact Miss Camilla Antonius learns after one desperate mistake allows Waverly Green’s most notorious rake to blackmail her. To avoid a ruinous scandal, Camilla is forced to enter a devil’s bargain with Envy, little expecting his game will awaken her true nature . . .

Together, Envy and Camilla must embark on a perilous journey through the Underworld—from glittering demon courts to the sultry vampire realm and beyond—while trying to avoid the most dangerous trap of all: falling in love.

Saw the twist coming…

Even though I saw the plot twist coming about half way through the book, it was still a great story.

Dark demon Faye love story

This might be one of my favorite dark tales. I love envy and I love Camilla , the story starts out quaint and submissive and ends up a lovely tale of adventure in the 7 rings of hell, with the dashing and dark prince envy and the secret keeping miss. Camilla Antonius. Secrets are revealed, passions unite and murder and mayhem reign. I loved the story tellers and the story in general.

A great continuation of the story!

I liked Kingdom of the Wicked but I LOVED this story. Prince Envy is my favorite prince of the 7 Circles and his clever! The twists and turns of the game kept me interested the entire book.

I liked it

I enjoyed the story.
Overall plot was good. Building of characters and realms was done nicely. Has slight plot twists, but not many. Spicy scenes are not cheesy or the main plot of the story- that I found as a relief. Yes it is a fantasy/ romance so that alone made things predictable. But I enjoyed it well enough to look forward to the next book, that the last chapters set up for.

The only problem I found was the narration. The "tone" of each character was kinda off because they both presented the MMC/MFC differently. They didn't flow together well enough.

Great Story, Performance Didn't Hit It For Me

I loved the story and characters! I think had I read a physical copy of it, I would have loved it that much more. The two readers just didn't mesh/fit well together for me during the audiobook.

It’s an OK book with superb narrator’s

First let me say Shane East is always… and I mean always… the best vampire narrator ever. If he voiced ever vampire MMC until I die I will die a happy death.

The book was almost good but left me feeling drained. Having said that I did enjoy it for the most part, and I’m a sucker for any Prince(s) of hell.

This is a LONG book and while that normally would make me so happy, it ended up making everything drawn out. We somehow were provided way too many details on pointless things and not enough details on incredibly important things. I hadn’t read Kingdom of the Wicked, so I’m guessing that would’ve provided some insight but there are so many questions and the drawn out plot makes a pretty simple story seem extra complicated somehow. We were introduced to so many characters and yet most of those characters we were barely given any information or backstory on. To me it seemed like the author was either trying to tie this book to the kingdom of wicked books (just guessing) or setting the next books in this series up.

Crying. Screaming. Throwing up.

For how many issues I had with this book in the beginning, I'm shocked to say that this book hit my favorites list. After finishing it, I understand why the beginning was the way it was, and it makes sense. I think I was unfairly comparing it to KOTW, which this book just isn't. It's completely different and wonderfully so. I did have some issues with the timing of certain things and with some other parts I can not say because of spoilers, but this is why I rated it a 4 instead of 5. Absolutely amazing book, and I CAN NOT wait for the next one to come out.

I so hope we get a Sloth one.

Kerri Maniscalco does it again!

I loved the trilogy about Wrath and Amelia, this book is no different. The stories are fun and exciting with satisfying romance and plot balance. I really enjoyed the narrators' performances, some of the best I've listened to on audible.
