Publisher's summary

One choice. One bite. Two fates rest in the balance.

After the harrowing events with the People of the Night, Luna and Sebastian deal with the aftermath of his decision. In a land full of vampires, finding happiness has never been more challenging.

Their troubles are far from over. When Queen Marguerite summons the pair back to Castle Sanguis to participate in a deadly tournament, nothing goes as it should. Luna and Sebastian make their way through the tournament, uncovering hidden motives behind the queen's request for their participation. The queen's game is not just a competition but a test of their loyalty to the crown.

As Luna and Sebastian navigate treacherous alliances, dangerous foes, and deadly threats, they must rely on their wits and love for each other to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

The cost of failure is death.

Tormented is the second book in The Binding Chronicles and should be listened to after Tethered. Intended for mature listeners.

Book 2 is even better!!

The first book was a little hard to get through but the second book was so much better. The character are more developed along with the world building. I am so glad I stuck it through and can’t wait to listen to the 3rd book

Love story

Good story, lots of vampires

Blah blah blah blah blah meeting my word count minimum. I’m not the writer here.

A little repetitive but good

I enjoyed the story overall. However, the internal dialogue was repetitive and that became a nuisance for me. I don’t know if this was about trying to complete a certain word count or if the author really felt it was necessary. This part of the series featured a lot of growth development on Luna’s part which I am guessing will be important for the final installment of the series.

Love the story! Female Lead proformance needs work

I absolutely love the plot and the such sweet relationships between the FML and MML. I can not get enough of how sweet and warm feeling you get from reading this book. The book is a fade to black for explicit spice and does not describe more than kissing but I am happy with that because to me the romance in this book is much deeper and sweetier than explicit Fantasy Romance books. Now the performance for the Female Main Lead is not horrible but her voice and her performance seemed not to fit with the story in my opinion. Narrator had a older female, spoiled brat sound that just sounds wrong in my opinion but her performance is ok. So I skipped her POV and read her POVS instead of listening. As for the Male Narrator he totally nailed it for performance was amazing. His performance makes the audio book worth it.

Review

The male had speech impediment which was obnoxious, although he did animate the story well. The female did well and the story was written well.

plot is good

however spicy is not a term for this book. yes biting and he's a gentleman is great. the sex details there are none may as well left it out. it would make a great mature book but not what it was portrayed as online

mediocre at best

I feel like I got cat-fished by this series. it sounded like it was going to be a super cool concept and a totally perfect Romantacy theme, but the writing is average at best. Luna is incredibly irritating and annoying and doesn't seem particularly well developed. she is supposed to be the logical academic type but she overreacts to almost every problem she is presented with. she gives up and whines that she "can't" after barely trying to overcome her challenges. She is weak and pathetic most of the time. I was definitely expecting a stronger female main character but this is so beyond pathetic. there is so much time wasted explaining the thoughts/logic going through Luna's head...the most obvious things are stated like, if I can overcome this and learn this then I can possibly use this skill to help save my brother! well duh. And she never learns to push past the discomfort of learning a new skill to trust that maybe she doesn't have to give up after she doesn't succeed the first time. Luna is by far the most irritating female ever. I am so disappointed in her. and the patience that Sebastian exhibits is way above and beyond, but for real, any normal person would literally slap her in the face and tell her to stop whining and get her sh** together.

the narrators are pretty good! if the writing was better, I'm sure I would like them more. I don't love the poor pronunciation of some words, like "Important"... that is being very picky, but important is pronounced "im-port-ant", not im-pord-ant". that is probably the voice training in me though. honestly, if the writing was better then the narration wouldnt be a problem at all. I'd be mildly irritated, but it would much easier to move past.
