About this listen

Earth seceded from its suzerains' state and declared independence. Naturally, such a bold move did not go unnoticed by its powerful neighbors in space, who had aggressive plans for the inhabitable yet overly self-reliant planet.

With black clouds gathering and the term of safety growing ever shorter, positive lines of the probable future for Earth's humanity and its allies were nowhere to be seen despite all Gnat the Devourer's efforts and unique abilities. His one remaining option—to seek advice from someone who never erred and knew everything there was to know—the Great First Female of the Miyelonian race.

And although the Great One lived many millennia in the past, since when was time an obstacle to a person capable of controlling chronostreams and manipulating reality?

While still a solid story with the aspects of the series we all love more than ten books in, I’m left a little worried the series is going to seriously get off track with reality changing powers granted to main character Gnat. If anything can be changed, any death or mistake reversed, there are really no stakes and thus no listener investment. This hasn’t entirely happened yet for every situation, but it’s happened enough this could easily be where the story is heading. I’ll be taking a short break from the series, but will be sure to give it another chance with the next book.

Starting to get out there

Story is still pushing foward, mc is still leveling and the story stays interesting. Im looking foward for the next book. This is always an interesting space sci-fi series with good politic's leveling system.

This series is good as always.

Can’t really write a long review but I enjoyed the series and appreciated a complimentary listen or two. Thanks for that,

Great cast

how dare audible not have the next book yet. Just kidding but seriously, I love this story and can't wait for the next book. I bought all of them and need to make a review for all of them.

As for the First Great Lady I seen that one coming from since they bleached her spots. though I will say this even though, I saw it coming I still loved the premise

so mad right now....

The author continues to keep the pace of the series moving forward along with introducing new characters and close-call combat encounters. However, the series is beginning to have a "never ending story" feel to it that, While there were new characters introduced, there was one 1st tier character who left gnat in a very odd way. It's not clear if this was done to bring in another character in their place or for some other reason.

I plan to get Book 12 but not sure if I will continue after that.

Neil Hellegers' performance was spot-on, as expected.

I enjoyed the book

It wasn’t bad, not my favorite book in the series. I felt like it was just a filler book.
